If he's 4th on the depth chart, he will be playing special teams.

TLL & Davis are #1 & #2 for special teams in my head.
No more Davis returning punts, please. I'm hoping Miller is doing that.

Honestly, I'd like to see what Tommy Lee Lewis can do in that role as well (punt returner)

I'd be fine with that as well, just no more Davis.

One thing about Davis returning punts, he at least catches the ball. See Arkansas State, Buffalo, etc. If he's not doing it, we better have somebody that's consistent at it.

+1

Either Miller or TLL. I want a gamebreaker returning punts. Someone that worries the s**t out of the other team when they have to kick to him. Kinda like this guy:

I agreed with you when we had a machine for an offense, but I don't think that'll be the case next year.

Just saying, though Davis isn't ideal, it's worse when you don't end up with the ball after the punt "return".

They didn't award him a scholarship to be a backup, just my gut feel. Volk will start at either guard or center. Not sure who the other o-line starter will be but Krempel should be in the running. We'll know who the leaders are as soon as spring ball starts.

Running back will probably be by committee unless someone really jumps to the forefront.

I would expect McIntosh or Rose to get a few plays per game to get them ready like they did with Lynch. This seems to be in vogue now and makes a lot of sense to me.

I don't see Bass at MLB. Jacques will probably back up Butler there. He improved toward the end of last season. They even had Schiller and Jacques in there together a few times in kind of a jumbo runstopping package. My guess is Bass and Clark outside with Butler in the middle. Cotton, Santacat and Jacques should play too. Rainey is a D-end these days.

I agree Bass is a true OLB, and played very well in the last two games. His extended time off appeared tondo him good. Cotton appears to have the size to play MLB, but he may be best suited at OLB. I think Clark will have a great year, not so sure about Butler. Santa should get a shot, his production was pretty impressive in the games he played, and he started when we were in do or die games, and we won them all. Jacquez also produced when he played. It appears Cotton would be most likely to not redshirt.

Haha!! You know that's classified! lol

BTW, Sheldon led the nation with 22.7 yds per Punt Return in 2002! The next closest guy had an average of 19.4. Sheldon also returned 3 punts for TDs in 2002.

Sheldon was just amazing. Ive never seen someone so prone to the big play as him. He may go silent for awhile, but you just always got a feeling he was one touch away from another big one, whether it was receiving or returning.

Don't forget Sheldon averaged 23.4 yards per reception as a WR in 2004. He was something!
