I'm going to take a sec to promote an idea I heard from Steve Czaban.

Put the SuperBowl on a Saturday. It's a good idea. No, it's a great idea. Here's why:

1. Most people don't have to work the next day. You get all the excitement of a party w/o having to deal w/ worrying about being up so late. Similarly for those travelling to the game...you have more time and less competition to get home.

2. The hype is dying down. The game, no matter how intriguing, can't survive a 14 day build up. 13 days obviously is only a little different, but it's better. People leave work on Fri ready for the build up, there's a lot of momentum lost that Sat.

3. Players are off too long. 14 days may help if you're injured, but it's clear that for most players there's a bit of rust after such a long layoff. This is the pinnacle game, players should be at their best. 13 days is again better than 14.

I say the fans should push for a Superbowl Saturday.

I agree. I think they should move the FBS mythical championship game and college basketball championship game to Saturdays too. Why are they on Monday?

I think giving Belichick 2 weeks to prepare is unfair. So count me in.

Its all about the money. If they moved it to Saturday you have everyone leaving a weekend day earlier.
