What were you supposed to do? It was 55 degrees yesterday, just like a football Saturday in October. If you were like me, you were out grilling. Not only am I ODing on recruiting news, I'm ready to tailgate today outside the Yordon.

I know how you feel. My gas is building up much earlier than usual today. Gonna be a long day for my poor co-workers!

I continue being the lone curmudgeon Huskie fan here who does not get all jacked re: signings.
I simply view it as one puzzle piece with alot of ruff edges.
Some meet expectations, others surprise, others disappoint or disappear after year one or two.

Absolutely, but pitchers and catchers haven't reported yet, and we're months away from spring practice, so it's gotta do. Some guys here really know what they're looking at when watching prospect film. I'm not one of them, but I do get excited seeing who's coming to NIU.

Its our last thing that we can see results vs the competition until opening day.
The spring game isn't even as exciting as this to me.

"That's what I love about these football recruits, man...I get older, they stay the same age."

Should we talk about NIU Mens basketball?

The article is missing Miller.
NIU needs to call their Tribune contact and provide an updated list that includes Miller.
Somebody tweet the reporter directly that he needs to update his article - Twitter@kicker34
Charlie Miller, a 5-foot-11, 185-pound wide receiver from Vero Beach (Fla.) High School.

Agreed, we all know NIU's 2007 class ranked last yet produced great players and a MAC championship.
But it is fun to see NIU beat out SEC, Big10, Big 12 and Big east schools for recruits. To me that says a ton.

I like this quote from the article:
"We're gaining some guys who redshirted and a couple of guys who are anxious to play again," Doeren said immediately after the bowl victory. "After a great offseason, our defense is going to be tough to deal with next year."

The fun doesn't stop on signing day - you just never know what to expect. We figured to be done for the day around 10 a.m., only to find out in the 11th hour - literally - that Vero Beach, Fla. wide receiver Charlie Miller was commiting to play ball for the Huskies. Flat out, the kid is a stud. I think you'll be impressed by his highlight video on Huskies All Access.

Let's face it, after a day like today, Doeren could go to the podium and say "Jeez, I've had really horrible gas all day and we better pop some windows in here" and we'd be jumping up and down screaming "MAC Football Flatulence Champions!"
