What did I miss?

Isn't he a WR coach with NO play calling duties? How does that qualify you to be an OC?

No he WAS the WR coach at Rutgers...now their HC got hired away to the NFL.

Okay. But if he has never had play calling responsibilities, how does the HC being hired away then qualify him to be an OC?

Good point. And, as much as I like PJ, the OC has to be someone DD is comfortable with. As far as we know, DD doesn't even know PJ.

Can we just pay PJ something to NOT go to the Illini? 03-puke

He's not going to Illinois. Beckman filled out his staff a couple weeks ago.

What other Big Ten school is hiring on the Offensive side?

Does Indiana have a position for him. I rather he didn't go to the illness either. How is his recruiting record?

Um guys...WISCONSIN make perfect sense for him especially with Canada now there.

RE: Illini jonesing for PJ
I seen NIU referred to as a mini-Wisconsin before but are these two programs starting to mirror themselves even more, at least in style of play?

They can groom position coaches for our DC/OC positions and then we further develop them and return them after seasoning to become the WI DC/OC. They develop further still at WI and come back to NIU as HC when ours go on to a higher paying gig. Keep a pipeline going with proven coaches and never skip a beat.

Of course, certain implications of this sort of arrangement would not be welcomed but it could be a mutually beneficial relationship.

He doesn't have to be a WR coach.

It would do him better to work on another position.

Special teams coach is open.

Also DB's coach could also be open as the DC is also that coach now.

Edgytim said they should go after him, that's all. Nothing to see here.

And folks, OC weren't born calling plays. They all have to start somewhere.

What authority does EDGYTim have other than looking at videos of young men on tape? #sandusky'd

PJ would likely only come back for an OC or HC position here.

If he doesn't go to the NFL then he will have plenty of interest from AQ teams for WR, ST or DB's coach.

I think it would be in his best interests if he were the Wisconsin ST and DB's coach.
