A-Sun basketball 1/23/12
Halftime scores:

Lipscomb 25, Upstate 33
Stetson 13, Savannah St 35
UNF 42, Kennesaw St 30
Belmont 27, ETSU 12
Jacksonville 34, Mercer 41

ETSU scores only TWELVE on their home floor in 20 minutes.... wow.

Mercer struggling with JU in the second half. This jacksonville team has to be the most unlikeable team I've seen in a long time. They just make you despise them.

I haven't seen their team this year yet (I will Saturday), but I do recall their AD yelling at our student section a few years ago after they beat us in the last game of the season to clinch the season title. I haven't had any respect for Jacksonville since then. It would be fine if it were a fan talking smack, but the AD... come on. For a program that has fallen from a final-four team to a bottom-feeder in the A-Sun, they sure do seem to feel some unwarranted sense of entitlement.

That's a sad story about their AD. Embarrassing. JU got 2 technicals against Mercer. The scouting report on them is that they are very quick, and are over-physical. They hack the ball handlers non-stop. A lot of fouls called on them, but they still get away with quite a few.

Byrd, Sorry to ruin your smallish little JU beat down here but what you have described did not happen. But Fatboy Wright being restrained and escorted from the jacksonville arena by security did happen. Now that is embarrassing. If the Mercer administration had any balls, which they don't, Wright would be coaching some jr hi girls team in Hahira.

Courtside, actually what Byrd described did happen. I was at the game. So his beatdown is valid.
