Quote:Conference USA

1. Francisco Garcia, Louisville. Still the best overall talent in the league. Averaging 16.7 points per game and is fourth in the league in assists from the small forward position.

2. Quemont Greer, DePaul. Has polished his skills to go along with his scary size. Greer is third in the league in scoring (18.7) and fourth in rebounding (9.3) while leading the Blue Demons to an impressive 4-1 start.

3. Travis Diener, Marquette. Tough choice here between Diener and Cincinnati forward Jason Maxiell, but while the Golden Eagles have struggled to a 2-3 start in the conference, Diener has continued his stellar play, averaging 18 points and a league-leading 9.0 assists per game.

Coach of the year: Dave Leitao, DePaul

Best freshman: Juan Diego Palacios, Louisville.

Ok, I'll give ole Sethy boy credit for
Francisco Garcia possibly being in line for player of the year in CUSA. But he must not ignore is A$$ kissing talents. They are the best I have seen, at least recently.

Dave Leitao, Coach of the year... Ok??? 03-confused He sure looked down and depressed when they played UC the last time. I hardly saw him coaching. His record is ok, but I would hold off on announcing that he is deserving of Coach of the year. By the way the AD of Depaul looked like she was going to burst into tears at that same game?

Finally, Quemont Greer, DePaul second in line for poy?

 Please, how about a kid with some skills & class Jmax.

Oh wait he did decide out of the kindness of his heart to include him third after Trav. Diener.
Again  Thanks, but It's not up to S.D. to make that final decision. So maybe it will actually be an unbiased choice.

why does class matter in POY voting? If that were the case Meeker would be a candidate.

Skills AND class. POY candidates usually are guys that aren't problems on or off the court and handle themselves in a respectful manner on the court.

the POY should determine the most valuable player to his team and the best player in the conference. Whether it is a Shane Battier or a Randy Moss, should not matter

Here's how they compare head-to-head:

Obviously class has nothing to do with freshman of the year voting, seeing as how Sean Banks was awarded that accolade last season.
