I can't wait until they finish this and the south quad. Troy is going to have undergone a makeover by the summer.

I know all the track guys are anxious for the arena to be finished also because it's going to make the track look plain awesome.

Eventually the track/soccer complex will be moved further onto the golf course. The entrance to the new complex will be near Charles Henderson Middle School. The area where the current track/soccer complex will be used for a parking structure and a courtyard.

There's a three step process with that area. Troy University and the state cleared the area behind Alumni Hall and around the Chancellor's house of kudzu. Now the land is back to its natural state and they've revived many of the natural streams down there. Their next plan is to build an amphitheater to replace the one they took down in the Trojan Center Quad. The new amphitheater will seat 2,000+ people and will connect to the new Janice Hawkins park via trails. The third step is a plan to restore "Lake" Lagoona and build a boardwalk along the water for students. The third step is under consideration because of costs.

Can not be soon enough. Was in the old Sartain Hall last weekend and they are not even fixing lights on the score board. Looks like they have have already made the move to the new building. I can not wait to see the new building.

When's the opening date? I've been looking forward to seeing it since I heard you broke ground.

Should by the end of summer because the exterior is done so maybe 2-4 from completion. It will take a while to get all the paining, polishing, furnishing, and planting done.

We really needed this the old facility was plain embarrassing. I went to the South Alabama game and the scoreboard numbers look like those lines on the self destruct bombs from those Predator movies. And it's just not okay that you can get off the bleachers take three small steps and be on the court.

So, you'll be playing in it next season?

Anything I say about the old gym would be construed as smack, so I'll avoid if if I can. 03-lol

I've been at Troy since 2005, interning at WOOF Radio to finish out my degree. People who left in 2004/2005 and haven't come back since will have their minds blown at the shear amount of changes on campus.

Actually I saw go for it so administration can see for themselves how embarrassing it was to even attend games in there being a school in this division. I for one would have been PISSED if anything was done to the football stadium before basketball got a new home and baseball is expanded.
