Jackson 6'7 (sr) (yeah they say 6'8)
Evans 6'6 (sr)(yeah they say 6'7)
Henninger 6'8
Pope 6'7
Spicer 6'9
Ortiz 6'7
Brunswick 6'10
Goodsen 6'5

Backcourt would potentially include
Holt (sr.)
Gaines
Brewer
Manley
Thomas

FYI, Pope is a backcourt player.

RE: Akron
Fallsdog, both the program and the official Kent State website list Jackson at 6'6". He doesn't even look that tall to me. And, he has been incredibly inconsistent so far. Henniger is as talented as any of them, but by now I have to wonder if his body is capable of adding the bulk and muscle needed to play inside in the MAC. I know he's supposedly gained considerable weight and has spent his time in the weight room, but he only looks slightly bigger to me than when he was in high school. I wouldn't count on Brunswick. If he is ever anything more than a practice player, it will be like manna from Heaven. As for Goodson, we have to hope he doesn't turn out to be another Avila or Nealey, or has a uninspiring junior year like many Kent State JUCO's have. I'm not trying to be negative, just realistic. The group could be OK, but they also could be a weakness. The guard situation, though, looks fine.

My bad on Jackson. Wishful thinking. Believe me, I am not heralding the 2012-2013 team. Just listing the guys that could make it up.

RE: Akron
There is always unexpected turnover on a roster as the end of season.
For example maybe scooter wants to play more so he leaves. I dont think Jackson's head is in this or he is happy with his role. This is his 4th year of school, so if he graduates does he move on?? I follow him on twitter and this weekend he posted. "When its no longer fun thats when you know its time" Not that could be related to anything but since basketball is a significant portion of his life is it basketball related?

What's the policy or protocol on partying during the season as some of these guys allude to crazy nights, etc. Once again alot to be left to interpretation but... they are young kids

Even if they stop putting it on Twitter, it doesn't stop them from doing it.

RE: Akron
I agree Alpha I do. But thing is (at least from my perspective) is that being a college kid and disrespecting the university that gave you $ to attend by letting the world know you were out partying (and by the way are you 21) are two different things. tact, respect, common sense. this is a societal issue not a ksu basketball issue i get that too.

Check the players out, most, it not all are followed by the staff and vice versa. Could this be our problem? I've been hearing the last couple of days that they are quite the men about town and have earned a reputation as such.....I think Geno had the same growing pains his first year in establishing some team discipline and unity!

In this day and age - and with imbeciles like Doug Brown lurking around the corner waiting for you to make the slightest misstep - if you use Twitter (other than business or marketing) you have got an absolute screw loose.

In fact a loss tonight could set the tone for a fairly average season. How do we avoid that. We need to get Marshall into foul trouble because he seems to not be able to come back from that and play a good game. If he is out there for 30 minutes someone will have to play a once in a season type game to slow him down. Greene will be less effective tonight because of their height so we need the guards to score more than usual. We also need some good defense on the perimeter.

Yea, I'm a bit nervous, but I think Zips fans are too. I just looked at their message board. They are talking about attendance and making haiku's. (And they say we suck.)
I'm looking to see the same team we saw in WV. To take a page out of Jim Christian's book and hope our guys "trust the system." I think individuals are trying to take the reigns, but pull the trigger too soon. Hence, not trusting the system. If they play the game and be a leader by following Sendy's design, we will be fine. Our fate does not depend on if Zeke has a good game, but how well we do what we do best... Which was what we saw in Morgontown.

that would be haikus

And that would have been a week ago.
Besides, I really hate annoying people that critique spelling on blogs, facebook, etc. We aren't on here writing legal documents or a thesis. I write on blogs for leisure reasons. If you want to be so anal as to point out spelling, when everyone clearly understand what I am saying, THEN GET A BLOODY LIFE!
