The number I hear the most, is that the ACC will get 4 NCAA tourney bids this year. Who has the best shot at being a 5th tourney team and what do they have to do to get in?

Looking at the RPI's, It looks like UNC, Duke, FSU and UVA are the chosen 4 to get in right now :

It looks like N.C. St., Miami (FL), Virginia Tech, and Maryland have the best shot at making a run with VT and UMD probably too far out to make it. UNC and Duke are safely in and either team losing to a bubble team will give that bubble team another top 50 RPI win. So really our best shot at having 5 teams in the tourney is to root for Miami or N.C.St to beat UNC and Duke and win almost all their remaining games. Or we're going to need a lower ranked team win the ACC tourney.

Plus maybe Maryland. Miami and VaTech still haven't won an ACC game yet...

We have (once again) a new coach so consistency will be an issue. I'd put the Terps in the NIT this year and the next. Expect us in the dance for 2014.

Right now, I'd be very happy if we make it into the NIT. I'm beginning to think that's a long shot.

I've been rooting for Pitt and Cuse like y'all were ACC schools since the first announcement of expansion. You were accepted into the ACC so fast, it made my head spin. Now the grueling 27 month wait until y'all can start play.
