Word is CUSA will review the footage to see if Tom should be reprimanded for his actions from the Marshall-UCF game. Story is now being covered by Deadspin, CBS, NBC Sports, ESPN, etc. Should be interesting to see a formal release on his actions.

I would be shocked if CUSA did something publicly...but PRIVATELY, I'm sure they will be contacting Marshall's AD and Head Coach and read them the riot act for making an A$$ out of the entire conf.

How about "I think Marshall should be forced to forfeit" instead of a double negative. I think forcing a forfeit for that would be the most retarded thing ever, refs have made worse calls that sway the outcome of games, and the final result is never changed. Luckily messageboarders don't get to decide these things.

What is disgusting and pathetic is the fact that a player threw an elbow at a coach on his way down the court. Did Herrion over dramatize it?...yes obviously but it doesn't take away the fact that he got elbowed. Flop or no flop, you don't lay hands on a coach or the Ref.

You assume that Sykes intended to actually elbow him (assuming that he did make contact with him, which I find hard to believe given the evidence). That being the case, it's the coach who is out of line for being on or to close to the court. Sykes was just running the play, playing the game, and focused on doing his job, not making sure that melodramatic cry-babies don't have a chance to take advantage of his position as a coach, in an unethical and pathetic manner.

I don't think Marshall or Herrion should face anything more than the general embarrassment that this story is bringing to them.

The only thing that irks me is that Herd fans won't drop the idea that Sykes was some thug when it was a brush of the elbow. Sykes is probably he most even-tempered and well spoken player on our team.

Since the media is independently portraying it the correct way, I guess I can't complain.
