The Cluster (3-9)
Appears that a little seperation may be occurring with Creighton and Wichita both going 3-0 this past week and sitting at the top of the conference with 6-1 records. This isn't unexpected and I'd bet that they continue to keep a gap between them and the rest of the league as they duke it out for the Title.

The rest is going to be interesting to watch. As of right now, it appears that Northern Iowa (3-4), Missouri State (4-3) and Indiana State (2-5) have played themselves out of much at-large hope, taking some poor losses early in conference play.

Drake (4-3) has surprised many by being where they are and going 3-0 last week. I'm not sure they'll hold on to the spot they're in, but they may be able to play themselves out of Thursday.

Illinois State, Evansville and Southern Illinois are all sitting at 3-4 right now.

ISU has shown some fight and are looking to stay out of a Thursday game, but they're young and going to have some ups and downs. They're about where we'd expect them to be right now.

Evansville fans should be disappointed with where they are right now as they expected to fight for a top 4 spot to start the season. Things aren't looking good.

I'm not sure how SIU fans should feel. They weren't expected to do much and many thought they'd finish in the bottom two. They've gotten off to an impressive start and are going to win a few more games. The question is, will they win enough to save Lowery's job? Do SIU fans want them to win enough to do that?

Then there's Bradley... They picked up a surprising win this weekend after what has been a disappointing start for Geno Ford in his first year. After two embarassing losses to Wichita by 39 and 37 I wasn't sure how long it would take for Bradley to win one. Looks like the 2nd beatdown motivated the Braves into a victory. Will they get another and when?

It's hard to predict who will be playing on Thursday other than Bradley. SIU, UE, ISUb, DU and ISU are all still candidates. I'm pretty confident that UNI and MSU will finish in the upper half. Outside of that, all bets are off.

RE: The Cluster (3-9)
We still have a tie for first after last night.

Creighton and Wichita are both 7-1. Both pulled out hard fought victories on the road and took another step towards a huge showdown later in the season.

Drake is surprisingly all alone in 3rd. Their two starting post players have been injured all year and I believe are redshirting. Somehow though, Rayvonte Rice and Ben Simons are carrying this team to victories.

Illinois State, Missouri State and Evansville are in a tie for 4th and 4-4. I think ISU is thrilled to be where they are as next season is supposed to be the year they compete for the top spot. Missouri State has to be disappointed considering this is the final year of Weems and it's looking like a long shot right now to dance. I don't know how Evansville fans feel as before the season began there were some mixed feelings on what to expect. They're probably about where they should be.

Northern Iowa and Southern Illinois are tied for 7th at 3-5. UNI is probably a little disappointed. They knew they were rebuilding but you expect more out of a Ben Jacobson coached team. SIU is ahead of expectations with 3 wins. Still wonder how SIU fans would feel about a 6th place finish and if it would save Lowery's job.

Indiana State is on suicide watch in 9th at 2-6. Tree fans were expecting to be in the hunt for the title. Probably above what they should have expected but nobody thought they'd be this bad. I expected a 5th or 6th place finish. This is just not a good team right now.

And bringing up the rear is Bradley at 1-7. Poor Geno Ford and Braves fans. They'll get it going in a couple of years. Just no depth and no real hope to not finish in last.
