Increasing respect for the staff (Fondren)
Reggie Fondren is a case that has caused me to have more respect for the evaluation skills of our recruiting staff. His numbers coming our of junior college were not impressive, but our coaches liked his overall game. He got virtually no playing time early, but then after a while he started to be inserted into key spots and came through.

Now, into the conference season, he still is the low man on the roster in terms of minutes, but he gets a few minutes each game, and his numbers look good. He has attempted only 10 three-pointers, but he has hit four of them; 40% from the arc we'll take any day. He has eight assists against only four turnovers; and a 2:1 A/TO ratio for a combo guard is outstanding. A good player for us, and a good pick by the staff.

Reggie has proven his worth this season. I'm always happy to see a young man move up the ladder through effort and determination.
