I guess if you don't want the MAC to succeed then you don't want UT to succeed.

You are completely incorrect in your thought process.

You're here in Toledo (or in the MAC), so why not root for Toledo (or the MAC)? It will only help out the overall cause. Saying you're from Toledo, yet you don't care about UT, is like saying you're a UT fan and don't care how the MAC does overall. It's like you're from Toledo and don't care about UT because you would rather go to 0$U/UM/ND.

I'm a University Of Toledo Rocket Fan, PERIOD!!!!!!!! I could care less about the I-A pretending schools in the MAC Conference. I wear Midnght Blue & Gold everywhere and have earned two (2) degrees from The University of Toledo. What do I have in common with the rest of the members of the MAC conference......NOTHING!!!!!05-nono

Toledo is NOT your typical MAC school because it actually has a fan base and draws people to their games, and can host AQ schools on a regular basis. (unlike the also rans in the field)

I'm going to have to disagree with that statement. Our following on the road is no different than any other MAC school. I witness this personally when our Rockets played at Ball State on Friday late in Nov. and the temp. was over 50 degrees. Only a few hundred fans from Toledo were in attendance.
And then we play in Washington DC, a 7 seven hour drive from Toledo, in the leagues' biggest bowl of the season, and UT can't even sell 2,000 tickets?

Yes, football scholarships absolutely should be cut. Due to Title IX and the large number of football scholarships, men's sports (other than football) have been decimated. Do people realize that almost all high schools and DIII colleges offer more men's teams than UT and most other DI programs? That's a shame.

travelling fan base should not be your basis for comparison
but if you want to use it as the basis, the attendance for most bowl games stinks and schools from AQ conferences have pathetic travelling fan bases too

I think UT travels pretty well. Especially when there is excitement around the team. Unfortunately we haven't had too much of that. The OSU game was awfully exciting though. And then we blew it and my whole season got deflated.

I'm glad you could make it to Muncie this season.

We all have pride for Toledo, but the MAC would not drop to FCS without Toledo.

The MAC would have a whole lot harder time staying FBS without Toledo's home attendance numbers.... who are the 10 schools you could count on to draw an average over 15,000 at home year in, and year out?????? tough counting, eh????

The 15K rule is a non-factor. Each school has to be over it if they want to stay FBS, but it's like one time in a 4 year period. Also, the schools can sell tickets cheap to businesses to get to a 15K average. EMU did this a few years ago.

I think that Toledo makes the MAC better, but the MAC doesn't need Toledo or anyone other particular school to stay at the FBS level.
