Back in early 90's Metro conf wanted to add 4 allsports[ Syc, WV,Mia, BC] & 4 FB only[ Temple, Rutgers, EC,Pitt] not sure how acurate my guess are. Tought was good idea but never got off ground.

If I understand correctly, the Big East happened instead, and Cincy and Louisville were left out. If only they had had the insight to form that EAC of all those football independents....

There was 23 eastern ind I believe. 9 school No div, 9 So div. They would control college FB. Penn st, Mia, FSU, So Car, WV, SYC, Pitt, Temple, So Miss , VT, Bos Col,Louv,Meph,Tulane,Cin,Rutgers, East Car, & Lous T[ really struggled for 18 school, maybe tulsa, toledo]. They would had 1st champioship game, controled bowls, forced other conf to match them. Proabbly put 4 Tex schools in SEC, B-12 would took some combination of SWC {Hous, TCU] & WAC[byu, Utah,Colo St, NM,UTEP]
