I hear Half-Acre is supposed to be great - especially their Cutter's Ale IIRC.

I used to be a huge hater of winter beers but I recently bought the Goose Island Mild Winter and am a huge fan of that. Not quite as powerful as Sam Adams Winter Lager, but a bit more manly than the summer beer I usually enjoy.

My favorite beers, in no specific order:
Goose Island
-312
-Mild Winter
-Summertime

Sam Adams
-Coastal Wheat
-Summer Ale

New Belgium
-Summersault

New Glarus
-Spotted Cow
-Totally Naked

I would say 312 and Spotted Cow are my "go to beers". The beer that I would buy if I was going to a party to drink for the night. The rest of them I will buy a sixer of and maybe have one or two a week (not as much in the past 6 months as I have been trying to get in shape and beer is not conducive to that). Next winter I will be working on more winter brews, this winter though my beer intake is much more restricted.

While not a bad selection of beers, its certainly not too adventurous. haha Those are the beers I drink when, on the rare occasion, I want something good but for whatever reason I want it to be light. Summery, I guess.

The girlfriend and I both share a love for strong imperial stouts so we have been drinking lots of those since it has gotten colder. I like the hoppy gloriousness of IPAs but its a love it or hate it thing. Girlfriend hates really hoppy beers.

Klake, you ever drink Kwak out of the proper Kwak glass?

I said it was a very light, summery list haha. I have never been into the heavier beers till recently. It is a slow transition away from American light beer to dark beers or IPAs. I'm getting there.

I know it is not a flavor, but anything darker tended to be a bit stronger than I used to like. Part of it is the look, dark beer just doesn't look as good as lighter beer.

*shakes head in disagreement*
Dark beer not only LOOKS better, the person holding it also looks better. Kman. Frat boy holding his light beer or the man holding his imperial stout? 03-wink Even better, a girl holding her imperal stout. Now THAT is hot.

On the flavor thing, I think Guinness is a really mellow easy to drink beer (why its my fav morning beer) but compare a guiness to a nice hoppy IPA, the IPA probably has a much stronger flavor compared to the Guinness.

Palo Santo Marron
An unfiltered, unfettered, unprecedented brown ale aged in handmade wooden brewing vessels.

http://www.dogfish.com/brews-spirits/the...marron.htm

Basically a Guiness Stout with a ton more alcohol. Would go great with a steak or a big meal, but not really good for a sippin'. Had it this weekend after enjoying this Green Bay loss.

Interesting beer. From reading this, it seems more like an imperial brown ale (if they exist) than a stout. I tend not to be a big fan of brown ales. I used to love Newcastle but I got tired of it and now don't even enjoy it!

I love beer aged in wood barrels though. If I see it I might pick it up!

I will have to keep an eye out for this one.

I have never really enjoyed Newcastle, not bad, just not for me.

Smithwicks is probably my favorite beer, followed closely by Landshark and Fat Tire

New Belgium Brewing is the name you are looking for. Fort Collins, CO. Got a variety pack in the fridge right meow

Thanks! I'll have to try that. I had a really good IPA last night. Victory Yakima Glory...a black IPA. Very tasty.
