Who cares who else Toledo has as a 1-1. The bottom line is UC now has 1-1 with 2 MAC schools. That bad. What's worse is they are MAC schools that happen to be in the same state where UC has nothing to gain by winning and everything to lose by losing. Dumb move on UC's part.

I wonder if UC fans will have the same condescension after Toledo beats us next year.

Would have liked a 2-1, but we have some difficult scheduling issues. Even for 2013 we don't know if Pitt, Cuse, and WVU we be
on the schedule.

Toledo being a better school probably has more problems getting teams to play them. They gave Ohio State all they could handle this year.

Just elaborating on your point, how many teams at the FBS level have their 2012 schedules locked in and ready to go for next season? Probably close to all of them. San Diego State and TCU really screwed UC over this time around.

That is correct. Almost everyone's schedules for next season are set in stone. I don't like going to Toledo next season, but it is what it is. TCU and O$U hosed us with late cancellations and left us scrambling. At least it is not a I-AA school since I really don't want 2 of those games. I understand the lose/lose situation, but it should help get us ready for conference play and is a short road trip for the fans.

As far as not getting a 2-for-1, with the Big East looking to expand and add more conference games, we may not have an open slot down the line since we already have games scheduled in 2013 and beyond and the number of conference games still not really set in stone. I'm definitely not thrilled with the move, but I get it. I don't have to like it though.

I actually believe it was Cincinnati that approached Ohio State to move the game since they believed TCU was coming in to take up a spot. It was TCU and SDSU that screwed UC.

I wish there was this level of vitriol about the home pre-BE basketball schedule.
BB is not in the box that Football is, the majority of the non-conference
schedule is made only a year in advance, and it seemingly is defined more by the discretion of the BB Coach and the "budget".
I hope Whit will bring more to the party.

Obviously if you're the better team then you have nothing to worry about playing our little MAC program. Should help your strength of schedule.

I don't mind this game at all. Gives us another quality non-conference road game. Where our schedule is right now we just did not have the opportunity to go 2-1 with most teams Toledo is a quality program, and the game will be in driving distance. I like it.

We're not the better team. What are the chances, in your estimation, that Page will return? It seemed like he had a lot of good publicity after the Military Bowl....

People are so afraid of getting beat by a quality football team. I say lets just go play the game. I think the bearcats will be the better team and take care of business. If we lose so be it. The Bearcats earn their keep in conference play anyways.

I sure hope they don't. Toledo is an upper-level MAC program and the Bearcats will have brand new starters at key positions (QB, RB, DT, FS). The Rockets could very well beat UC that day.

And the Glass Bowl has a pretty solid home-field advantage, iirc. Could get ugly.

I'm fine with the matchup. We got fu^ked by the traitors and we have to do what we have to do. I wish we could play more of these regional series, against Indiana, Ball State, BGSU, one of the directional Michigans, Kentucky....

Because they have pretty much all of their skill players back and we lose pretty much all of ours. Hopefully the game, being on 10/20, will be late enough into the season that our guys can gel in time, but who knows.

We were certainly the better team this year, but next year I'm just hoping for a bowl game. 2013 I have high hopes for though.

However, this is a game that, if we win, we will get little to no respect. If we lose, we'll get killed by the pundits. Just like that Fresno State game in 2010.

Totally agree. Went up to the Glass Bowl during a BGSU-Toledo game the day before Thanksgiving in 2006. It was freezing out and super windy but Toledo fans were still going nuts. If I remember correctly Bruce Gradkowski made some kind of appearance at the game too and they were going nuts for him.

Just need to suck it up and deal. Filling games at such a late date that didn't require spending a lot of money left the athletic department with few options.

Anytime, anywhere.

Unfortunately SOS counts for nothing in college football. You're better off losing to a terrible BCS program than a solid non-AQ team in the eyes of the CFB world. We get no credit for beating Miami when they have a solid year. Not saying that's how it should be but that's the way it is.

I guess business wise it's not a very good deal and it makes UC look kind of mickey mouse I guess but as a fan it doesn't bother me at all. I have kinded wanted to get to the Glass Bowl. I'll get that chance now.

Eric Page wont be going pro. The coach said he was coming back. Plus if he went to the draft he would be somewhere in the 6th round to undrafted range because of his size

***and an hour later Page shocks us all and is going pro. Best of luck to him but i hope he enjoys making his way up from the practice squads. While this is a blow to the program it was be devastating as Reedy is a very similar player
