Just like nobody at Home Depot or Starbucks has ever spoke to me about homosexuality and how great it must be.

CFA choose to get political by making millions in donations to Christian groups with agendas against marriage equality...I'd like to think if I do not agree with those donations, it's my choice to not eat there.

If some Iranian family opens a falafel shop, talking about their Islamic values...i wouldn't expect many Christian women to eat there.

The way you made it sound was that any time you eat there that they push their beliefs on you. I just found that hard to be true. I'm not saying you have to eat there. I was just saying that they don't "bible thump" when you are in the building.

Spend your discretionary income as you please by all means. I wasn't disputing that...simply the way it came across. My apologies.

some folks would have a problem eating at chic fil a because of their christianity
but you'd be hard pressed to pry the chicken sandwich out of their cold, dead fingers

Love me some Ritz-Carlton. I have only stayed in about three of them. They are fantastic.

they are free to run their company how they see fit...but I'm also free to not eat there.

of course, as I've said, the main reasons are it's a little too expensive for me, and I always seem to want it on Sunday mornings.
You need to get another job if fast food is to expensive for you

The fries were good and they gave a ton of freakin fries. The burger was good but nothing just spectacular. In all I would compare it to a less greasy version of Wendy's for double the price. One mans opinion though. It was good, pricey, but good to try something different.

With that said....give me Huey's any day of the week over Five Guys.

I agree. Only we don't have any Huey's in DFW. So I frequent Twisted Root.

I don't know how much more convincing I could need for Roxie's. I'll really have to figure out how to squeeze that in. Haven't been to Alex's in ages. So much to eat, so little time. I heard Huey's changed their filler, so I'm just not pumped about it. Someone change my mind, because my mom lives near one.

As for Roxies, just do it.

Had Hueys twice while in town, and they were still damn good.

Huey's isn't Top 10 in Memphis anymore, but it's still fine. They're in timeout for a while for having the audacity to not serve me a beer Wednesday night. That "Absolutely No Alcohol Without ID" sign behind the register should only be a suggestion.

I've seen a few mentions of my friend Seth's excellent blog, Best Memphis Burger. In case you don't know, he is putting on the 1st Annual Best Memphis Burger Fest on Sept 30 in the Minglewood Hall parking lot. Unfortunately I'll be out of town that weekend, so I hope to see many of you there in my stead. Benefits Mid-South Spay & Neuter

RE: Ate at Five Guys for the first time today
I finally went to Roxie's about 2 months ago....it was seriously, hands-down, the best burger I've had in Memphis....and maybe anywhere. I was so full I had about two or three bites of the burger left, & couldn't bring myself to just throw it away - it went in the fridge and I finished it later that night. SUBLIME.
