West Virginia, TCU make Big 12 stronger
Things are looking up... 04-cheers
West Virginia, TCU make Big 12 stronger
Quote:West Virginia's 70-point explosion in the Orange Bowl is further proof that the Big 12 Conference may actually be even better next year.

The league is gaining a team that will be loaded with offensive talent and coached by Dana Holgorsen, considered an offensive genius in some circles.

In addition, the Mountaineers have won three BCS bowl games in the past seven years.

"We believe (next year) we'll be contenders, but we've got to come out and prove it," said West Virginia quarterback Geno Smith.

The Big 12 will also add TCU next fall. The Frogs (11-2) won the Poinsettia Bowl over Louisiana Tech last month and have played in two BCS bowls in the past three years, including a victory in the 2011 Rose Bowl.

In other words, the Big 12 is getting two high-level football programs to replace Missouri and Texas A&M.

I's going to be hard..

I wouldn't be shock to see 3 teams or more with 10-2 records and few at 9-3...

A fact a team In Big 12 goes undefeated will be in the Big Game....

It's going to be hard for so many good teams to have a great record, froggie. With only 10 teams, playing a 9 game round robin, the only way that happens is if the teams at the top beat each other up...

Going unbeaten next season in the Big XII may be the impossible dream. We'll see...

I agree but can't wait to see how the Frogs do against B12 competition. As for WVU, the B12 will be considerably different than the BE as well, I think. Last time I looked, Pitt was getting beaten up pretty badly by our crosstown whipping boys, aka the SMU Mustangs. Yes, I know, they beat us every 7 or 8 years whether we need it or not!

I hope WVU gets their exit from The BEast cleared up in time to compete in the Big XII next year. I like the Mountaineers chances no matter where they play though. We don't lose any of our major skill players, and have a lot more coming in...

I know. I imagine The BEast schedule will be forthcoming in the near future as well. It wouldn't surprise me at all to see WVU on The BEast's released schedule...

Very true but I don't believe our conference schedule will be chosen based upon a coin flip :-)

No. WVU has maintained all along that the Mountaineers will begin play in 2012, and will join the Big XII at the end of the academic year...

No matter how the legal situation turns out, this is WVU's last semester in The BEast...

Schedules were released to Big 12 TV Partners. This link indicates that WVU was part of the schedule.
