RE: The Beat of the Drum
I support Candidate X. He is having a rally on such and such a day. I post about it for those interested.
I then attend said rally and give a recap of it to those interested but might not have been able to attend. Because I attended said rally and commented on it I am now that Candidates new spokesman (he doesn't know it yet though) and I will be in charge of all press releases and I will also be responsible for all policy decisions he makes from now on as well.

Isn't it great how that works? Oh wait, it doesn't only in Slappy's mind.

Unless you see something in an official statement or under the pen of the Foundation, these comments are just the opinions of individual people. Just as my opinion and my experience should be no reflection on the official stance of the formal organization of the BFFF, don't confuse other people's comments or opinions as such.

Walker's desire to support Mullins is her business and it's her money. Her support and friendship toward tennis at ETSU predates the football debacle. Her position on the BASA is a direct result of that level of support. She says she is for the "success of ETSU Athletics" and we'll just take her at that and her opinion. Her opinion is obviously swayed by the voices that do the talking. Nothing to be astounded by there.

I do know that it has never been the purpose of the Football Foundation to limit ETSU's ability to be successful in it's efforts to have other sports or to allow other sports to be successful. The only question is and has been "WHY NOT FOOTBALL?" Plain and simple.

I feel like I need to start adding some type of required political ad disclaimer to the end of the comments "Hi, I'm not the BFFF, and they do not endorse this message" or some nonsense so you all will stop attributing people's opinions with the potential or perceived stance of the organization. Does the message overlap? Sure. Do I or Pitt speak for the Foundation? NO.

but you and pitt post updates and announcemennts for upcominig meetings. you attend them regularly and thus you ARE associated with the bfff. so intentionially or not your opinions and input are most likely viewed this way by those on this board and otherwise.

thats like saying you attend a demonstration in support of the cause, but really, you are not for the cause. cant have it both ways, nor should it be viewed both ways

MY opinion is MY opinion. When you see the President of the BFFF coming on here and posting HIS opinion, you can assume that is the "stance" of the organization.

I'm sick of YOU assuming that just because people come on here and post about football's assets to this University or because people don't like the direction of the University and Athletics it's because that's what the "Foundation" is brainwashing into people. How many times have you degraded the opinions and facts that people post on here and associate that with the Football Foundation? How many times have you, and others, attributed the posters on here with the direction of the Foundation? CONSTANTLY.

As I've said before and will for the last time, THERE IS NOT ONE PERSON ON THIS MESSAGE BOARD WHO SPEAKS ON BEHALF OF THE BFFF. My stance is based on a long term relationship with the Foundation. I don't agree with many of the things they have done and NOT DONE over the years BUT I always support them because in the end they want a football program back at ETSU because it's good for ETSU.

Other people on this board might attend every meeting BUT the opinion of that person is as an individual, they also DO NOT SPEAK for the FOUNDATION. When you see a press release stating that a specific person has been appointed or elected to represent that organization, then you'll know it's coming from the Foundation. Until then, grow up and stop degrading the efforts of an organization that you know nothing about because you have a personal problem with people who speak out and don't bow down.

I'm not feeding your troll tendancies any longer. The way you hijacked the Meeting thread was just an ongoing example of what a troll you've become. Therefore, I'll leave you alone.

riiiiggghht...i think your assessment in many areas is a bit off.

rod, i think i have stated my position before and that instead of telling everyone why they should think one way or the other, most people are capable of making that assessment themselves. if you want to keep trying to explain to us why we are wrong, it makes your position seem that much more unreasonable. but, by all means keep doing it.

My position is unreasonable? How so, I am not the one stretching to make a connection that just isn't there and I doubt anyone else on this board would see it your way, everyone knows who the reps for the BFF really are. On the one hand you and your buddies LetsGoBucsGo or whatever thier names are downplay the importance of this board but now you are saying it is the mouthpiece for the BFF? Really?

Slow your roll Rod. I never claimed anyone was the mouthpiece of the BFF. I have never even talked about the BFF. I've merely discussed the opinions tossed out on this board, by the users on here. It is amusing that you are erroneously lumping several people into one unified voice as criticism for doing that exact same practice.

Also, the whole BFF brainwashing comment tossed out by Mommabear made me chuckle. The hardcore football proponents on this board have generally always categorized posters in two ways -> those who believe in football as the savior of all and if you don't, you're brainwashed by Mullins and Co. I know that I'm not given the credit of independent thought by multiple posters on this board, because I don't drink the football as a magic bullet Kool-Aid. Of course, that means I drink the Dave Mullins Kool-Aid or am a brown noser (or whatever other descriptions have been tossed my way, by various grumpy posters). So MommaBear, it's ironic that now you are claiming there is a contingent that thinks there is BFF brainwashing going on. Thanks for the laugh though.
