Bryton Barr's name has flashed across the Internet recently. The EMU FB facebook site has one article on him. Here is another (scroll down to his paragraph). Good stuff.

RE: My top EMU FB recruiting targets
From what I've read about him, he's a tackling machine. 175 tackles in 9 games his junior season. That is disgusting.

His scout.com page says he has great burst to go along with his tackling technique and instincts. His downfall, and probably the reason why he hasn't been recruited more by the big boys, is his size. Personally, I don't care how tall a LB is. London Fletcher does just fine in the nfl, and he's lucky if he's 5'10.

Barr sounds like another Cudworth. I'd gladly take him.

RE: My top EMU FB recruiting targets
Barr is one of approximately six recruits who are to publicly announced as visiting this weekend.

I'd guess that the total number will be 2 x that number.

We are to the time in recruiting where coaches will ask the players if they'll commit before leaving town.

I assume we are still working on the assumption of 16 or 17 commits to date and say 6 more verbals to go.

Sunday could be a big day if enough recruits say, "Yes".

I like the recruits who are visiting. They'd look good in Green and White.

I haven't heard of him committing to Central so he is either a Plan B recruit (or a 'numbers' recruit - multiple recruits looking at the last available scholarships) for them OR he plans on visiting EMU and then making a decision.

I can't find any publicly stated intentions for more visits BUT the Rivals article isn't an interview so who knows.

I am wondering if we are looking at him as a DL.. See highlight film of him playing DE.. He has great size for the DT position. I've seen him play basketball but didn't know he was also a football player.. He was good at basketball..

I'll make a fool of myself and say TE.

We need some real help at that position, esp. with Hoskins a senior to be and maybe Russell moving out to WR.

Brooks in the games I remember, esp. the NIU game, where he had real problems with Sean Progar, might be a step slow to block quick DEs.

I read the EdgyTim article and I'll make a fool of myself again and predict that he commits before leaving for the Land of Lincoln.

He is getting talked to by other schools, but this seems like a good fit. 03-idea

BTW, I keep reviewing my original list (the one with Hall, Williams, Gregory, Joyner, etc. etc.) and we keep getting new names and more new names but no word of Hall, etc.

I'm starting to wonder.

Dear Friends,
After doing some research about Kenneth Mouton, it appears Eastern never offered. I find it very upsetting because Scout.com showed Eastern offering. In a story about him on Scout.com, it appears that his only offers were from Navy and Bethune-Cookman. As I said before, Scout.com needs to do a better job, or is it Eastern's responsibility in this matter? He was always listed as a prospect on Eastern's Scout.com page, with an offer from Eastern.

Hi Ken,

I feel your pain, i have a account with Rival.com and they show that we made Mouton a offer.. This is one of the problems with the major recruiting boards they don't have a way to verify if information that is told to them is real. I have tried to convinces myself that I should cancelled Rival but now I am hooked.. I think it should be the school responsible to communicate when they have a recruit verbally commits  to a program.
