Very nice alignment. It's nice to see there's at least 1 FBS conference where the geography makes sense.

The Big 10 is just as compact as this.

Quite true, but we have legends and leaders instead of east and west. MAC wins.

Good point.

The B1G dropped the ball there, it could have had Central and East divisions (think time zones).

The B1G is definitely the leader in legendary failures in BCS bowl games...

The Big 10 could have had the same divisions, and just named them North (Nebraska, Iowa, Minnesota, Michigan, MSU, plus Northwestern) and South (Penn STate, Ohio State, Indiana, Purdue, Illinois, plus, er, Wisconsin). Wonder how long it'll take them to figure that out.

Or you can go non-directional without sounding lame. Atlantic and Coastal were fine names, still geographical in a sense but they work. The Big Ten could have done something around the Great Lakes or the Mississippi River perhaps. Great Lakes Division and Plains Division?

Yes, the Big10 has gone (12-13) in BCS Bowls (including (1-1) in BCS Bowls this year), while the current BigEast line-up is (4-5). The ACC is clearly the worst AQ conference overall at (2-13) - while the SEC and PAC have very good BCS Bowls records..
