CU and WSU have both lost their home openers

ISU loses to one of the worst teams in D1 after winning at UNI

SIU actually has a conference win

UE actually has a road win

I have no idea how things are going to shake out after the first week. All reasonable thought from before has gone right out the window. Welcome to The Valley I guess.

I think Evansville may be better than they get credit for. Can they sustain it? Who knows. But will be better than 8th or 9th as many predicted.

UNI may be coming back down to earth. 0-2 in league.

SIU...well. Who knows.

WSU and Creighton will be fine.

Evansville is only as good as Colt Ryan. At least based off of last night. I've never seen him play like that and have always thought he was over hyped by UE fans. He hit a number of contested shots last night. They could finish 5th or 6th.

I still think UNI will be in the top 4. Top 5 for sure. They got some nice young talent and one of the best coaches around.

I'm baffled with SIU right now. I wasn't sure they'd win 2 games in conference all season. And they're 2-1? We better put them in their place Saturday.

I agree that when all is said and done, it'll be Creighton and Wichita at the top. Nobody else really has the talent level and experience right now to hang with those two. Both need to pull away from the rest and leave no doubt.

Illinois State seems to be surprising a few people. I'm not shocked with how they've played so far. A lot of young talent and one of the best bigs in the conference. They could be really dangerous next year and I've said before that I wouldn't be surprised to see them watching on Thursday rather than playing.

Is it possible maybe Lowery is actually a descent coach with the right players? Perhaps he was recruiting based on talent, and not those that fit his system.

I'm not sure we'll ever know. Even if they pull out a .500 record this year, I'm not sure the SIU fanbase will tolerate any more time for him. But I do agree that he wasn't recruiting kids that fit his system and he wasn't adapting his system to the kids he was recruiting.
