Q. Pat, Coach Levine talked about you proving the one loss was a fluke, not the 12 wins. Did you feel like you did that today?

PATRICK EDWARDS: I feel like if we play our game, we can win every game. Obviously the game we lost, we didn't come out and play our game as we were supposed to play it.

Don't waste anymore time on the "fluke?" thread over in CUSAbbs. Some sensitive sissies over there. They won the conference and have a trophy and seem to be looking for anything or anyone who questions USM's legitimacy.

I never thought of USM fans as a scorn/jilted . . . but that thread points says otherwise.

Exactly.

All I can say is next year should be interesting. Our new coach already has a bunch of Southern Miss haters and he hasn't even coached a conference game yet. They're looking for things to hate on. For every game we play in CUSA next year, it'll be the same deal. The us versus them crap. And if it ends up with Houston and Southern Miss again in the CUSA title game, those guys are going to turn it into a Holy War.

In fairness, most of the So. Miss fans I've encountered have actually been pretty cordial to me. And to be honest, I at first didn't remember seeing or hearing the quote in question. Oh, well.

If it is Houston vs S Miss in the championship game next year, I can see it being like this years ECU game. There will be alot of Coog players who will be out for a full ration of revenge. I have a feeling Coog fans will really enjoy the rematch.....just a hunch.
