Women's NCAA tournament
Realistically, the chances of our women making the dance this year appear rather slim. I'm wondering if we don't make it if the NCAA would be likely to send a local team here- UCA is 8-2 and could certainly win the Southland tourney. The lady hogs are playing well and may well make the tournament. I'm wondering what the financial arrangement is with the NCAA. I know we made a bid. Do we get to keep what we make on ticket sales and concessions over and above the bid? Ironically, if that's the case we might well make more money on the deal if the Ladybacks play here than if our girls made the tournament. I wouldn't count Joe Foley out come tournament time. But if he and his ladies can't pull it off, having UCA and the Ladybacks at Stephens for NCAA games would be pretty entertaining.
