FOLLOW ME !
(YOU GO FIRST !)

Today, and for many decades, WMU Alumni have extolled the virtues of
Western Michigan University, and the Kalamazoo Community.

Now, it appears that the Alumni Department is using social media/web site
notices to encourage WMU Alumni to recruit students and future Alumni.

In any event, I'm sure that WMU Alumni, regardless of what shows up on some
obscure web site, will not change the fact that WMU Alumni will continue to actively
promote and encourage students to attend our Alma Mater.

However, perhaps it might be wiser to recruit Western Michigan Alumni to a
Functioning WMU Alumni Association, before you ask them to do something
that they're probably doing, and will continue to do, in spite of the lack of a
Western Michigan University Alumni Association.

Self Promotion ?

There are enough WMU Alumni that are PO'd about the whole matter, that they
are gone forever.
No, we don't mean deceased.

If the future "plan" is to continue this "Waltz of the Collectors", and not separate
the Fund Razing from a true WMU Alumni Association, there's really no hope,
and a continued Alienation of Alumni.

Of course, there those who feel that,
"I wouldn't want to join a club, that would have me as a member." GM

What do you think ?

Some people have principals,
others do as their told. (parrots & bobbleheads)
Is "Regressiveness" a word ?
Sounds like a Plan for Total Distruction !

You couldn't possibly understand ACADEMIA, this is where
the "smart people" hang out.

Overheard outside the Alumni Department,
"We don't care what you think, just send money!"

Chances are, if WMU isn't going to "invest' in their Alumni, the Alumni aren't
going to "invest" in WMU.

Since the Prez has one foot out the door, can the money usually spent
on his world tours, be used to pay for the Band to go to USC and MSU next year ?

Those "pesky" Alumni !
If they'd just leave us alone to do GOD'S WORK..........

Many WMU Alumni mistakenly believe that they're still a part of Western Michigan University.
The reality is that the WMU Administration knows that they are a part from
Western Michigan University, and delt with accordingly.

The Prez seems to have forgotten to post his weekly schedule for the past two months.
Has he gone undercover on a secret mission to another exotic location ?
Did he contract Zika on his trip ?

I'm not. Dunn's retirement is 2 years overdue. Excited to see who leads WMU next, and where they lead us to. Dunn's effectiveness peaked a long time ago.

MEMORANDUM

To: Whom it may concern

From: The Lost Alumni

Subject: Getting Involved

For any of us forgotten souls in SE Michigan, who have tried to work with the
powers in Kalamazoo, there's more than a little history that reflects your
separation from reality, and perhaps sincere but condescending advice.

As an example, without reiterating all the past postings, we had been promised
speaking engagements to have the FB Coach address the WMU Alumni in SE Michigan.
After a period of over three years, it appears that he is not allowed to speak to us.
This is not the Coach, but his keepers.

Just one of many disappointments.

What did happen to those "Life-Time Membership Dues" ?
Larceny by Conversion ? ("It's a joke, son !", said Senator Claghorn)

But, thanks for your comments, and Have you done anything lately ?

What do you think ?

Sorry, only slightly over 1300 visits to this thread, since our last posting.

OVERHEARD OUTSIDE THE INTERVIEWING/INTERROGATION ROOM
We don't want you to actually do anything. There are others who are really in charge.
You won't have to make any major decisions, that will be taken care of by others.
Just act like your in charge.
There are almost invisible strings attached, and they are really in charge.
We think it's called an Oligarchy.

RESIST CHANGE
Change is dangerous. You might "mess up".
People might be held responsible, though unlikely.
That's why we have RUBBER STAMP MANAGEMENT by Boards and Committees .
"They" can't hang everyone.
However, see Murder on the Orient Express.
Avoid attracting attention. Go on trips.

APPLY THE GOLDEN RULE
Those with the power, control the gold, and really rule.

CHANGE IS COMING !
So they stood by the side of the road and waited for it to arrive.
It was in the form of continued Regression.

WORK WITH US? ARE YOU KIDDING !
It's work for us.
We're the smart players here !
After reading the "requirements" for watch parties,
who would want to get involved. Attitude Revealed !

"AND NOW, FOR SOMETHING COMPLETELY DIFFERENT",
and on a more positive note.............

It is often said, that Sports is a metaphor on life.
Since Head Football Coach Fleck and the Assistant Football Coaches, have excelled
at managing the WMU Football Program, to the recently attained ELETE and Lofty
levels of achievement, LIFE IS GOOD !

Setting goals, short term, mid range, and Long term for the program/team success,
and providing a culture to achieve those goals provides direction.

Setting player goals, with each team member for individual players contribution
the Teams overall success, through individual goal achievement is paramount.

Game Management Planning, Game Strategies and Adjustments, and Attention
to Details during the games, reflect the comprehensive nature and tremendous
abilities of Coach Fleck and the entire Football Coaching Staff.

The Recruiting and Football Team Promotional Activities and Interviews,
only enhance the National Visibility, Awareness, and Prominence of
Western Michigan University.

Finally, continuing to promote Kalamazoo as a wonderful Community and College Town,
also lends itself to the positive image of Western Michigan University as an ideal
place to attend college.

Management (Coaching) by Objectives (Goals), works every time.

Perhaps, the FOOTBALL DEPARTMENT could be hired to run a WMU Alumni Association.

Go Broncos !

I'm sensing the thread is about some sort of angst around the idea of loss.

If someone does have a good grasp on the thread, could you please state that like in a short paragraph with an introductory sentence, a short body, and a conclusion?

Please do NOT end the paragraph with a transition sentence or a question. Just say the point so people can have a clue. I'm hoping there is some point where healing could begin.

Thanks.

Sincerely,

Honest Ernest (Dirty's alter ego)

Thank You, for Your Support !
and views, and other comments.

As one of the older posters on this board, I've found my Twenty Credit Hours of English,
at Western Michigan University has served me well over many decades.
(I remember V-J Day. Do You ?)

Currently, judging by the fact that there are apparently only two posters that are mesmerized
by the last posting, I suggest a re-reading, and some reflective thinking of the entire text.
(Two viewers, divided by over one-thousand total viewings, equals results greater than .998!
Not a bad batting average)

Since, I'm not really doing this for a Grade, I think I'm allowed a little Literary License.
It was a declaratory statement, not a question.

However, like most participants posting on Bronco Stampede, we are all very excited by the
success and national notoriety of the Western Michigan University Football Team, and made
an effort to express our supportive observations.

Even after consuming a large amount of Pharmaceuticals daily, I'm still quite capable of competing
at a High Level, given my CABGx4, and other age related maladies.

And,
THE HITS KEEP ON COMING !

If I'm interpreting this correctly, this post revolves mainly around the daily ingestion of pharmaceuticals.

I can support that. Especially the HITS KEEP ON COMING part.

Probably those who can still remember Bobby Layne, despite early onset, are growing fewer.

Love to all Bronco Nation Alums. Fight on. Row the Boat. Beat Wiskey.

THE EQUATION
for success.........

Taking a somewhat analytical approach to our new FB Situation, it's
hopefully just a matter of plugging in a few missing elements, to continue
new found success, of the FB Program.

1. Continuing Upscale Recruiting within Michigan, the Region, and Nationally
2. Continuing to recognize the Value of promoting the Kalamazoo Community
3. Scheduling and playing major school competition
4. Creating strategies for increased student participation and involvement
5. Creating strategies for increased Alumni participation and Involvement
6. Creating strategies for increased Public participation and Involvement
7. Establishing methods for evaluating and measuring effectiveness of
participation and involvement programs for Students, Alumni, and the Public
8. Accepting the possibility, that things may have changed for the better
9. Realizing a Provincial Mind Set, still exists within many WMU principals
(West Michigan is not the Center of the Universe)
10. Thinking Big ! Keep on the "always striving for improvement schedule" ! MBO

Perhaps, this is an oversimplification, but whatever works.

A new element is the HC and Staff.
Of prominent importance, it is only one part of the equation.
There is no reason to believe that Coach Lester and staff's SYSTEM,
will be any less successful than the last system.
Also, there's no reason to believe that the last system will succeed
(or not succeed) anywhere else.

On another note, apparently a WMU staff member was interviewed during
the MAC Championship Game at Ford Field, and commented on the
GREAT TURNOUT by WMU Fans, saying that there are more WMU Alumni in Southeastern Michigan,
than in Western Michigan.
Soooo, could someone create a strategy to engage the Loyal WMU Alumni in Southeastern Michigan
beyond huddling in Bars (many of us are beyond that), and provide us with guest speakers and
other information sharers, in more upscale venues.
Perhaps, the new FB Coach and Staff could participate.

We suspect that the former FB Coach was not allowed to address the Loyal WMU Alumni in SE Michigan,
even though a visit presentation was promised at least three times.

I'm sure, that will return more benefits/return on investment, than the Latest World Tour by the Prez.
This guy sure takes a lot of paid vacations.

If you expect Alumni to invest in WMU, it's a good thing to invest in your Alumni.
Self Promotion doesn't count for much.

BTW, how about a Student and Student Athlete Recruiting Film/DVD, narrated by WMU Alumns,
"Mr. Pure Michigan", (Tim Allen)

IT'S SUMMERTIME,
and Fall and Football are just around the corner !

Several of you have noted, that we have been on Summer Break,
and that we are actively preparing for the New Regime to establish
it's influence, by initiating new programs to improve Relations with
WMU Alumni.

We understand that some Alumni recently received Questionaries,
and some Alumni did not receive Questionaries.
Several Alumni have expressed concerns about how these decisions were made
to include or exclude Alumni, based on What ?
Data Base ? What Data Base ?
Will the results of the survey be published, or will the results be "classified" ?

Will the Conspiracy Theory hold up ?

Ever Hopeful and Optimistic, many of us are looking forward to New Alumni Programs
of inclusiveness and Creativeness, to Improve Alumni Programs in All Activities,
especially the lost souls, of large numbers, in SouthEastern Michigan.

We're all waiting for the ball to come over the net !

TIME, MARCHES, ON..................

Recently, many of us received a card in the mail, requesting us to do
a 30 Second Survey.
Apparently, this was an effort to separate us from our monies,
after we expire?

How disappointing, when many of us in SouthEastern Michigan are still
looking forward to New Programs and Activities for WMU Alumni.

What ever happened to the previous Alumni Survey?
Is it still being discussed 'in Committee" ?
Is it "Classified"?
Of course, this is not unusual, since many of us have been asked before,
for our opinions, which are soon forgotten.

Several years ago, it was reported that a Million Dollars was taken from
the then "Alumni Association, to rehab an old building, that most WMU Alumni
will never see the inside of.
This , for all intent and purposes, ended the WMU Alumni Association.
Many Alumni, who paid foe LifeTime Memberships, were/are still PO'd about
that "debacle".
Talk about DISRESPECT !
(Bait and Switch, Taking ones monies under False Pretenses, etc etc................)
No Membership Cards, no Chapter Meetings, Occasionally a Watch Party at
a local Bar or Saloon, but no Presentations or Visits in Hotels, Community Meeting Rooms,
and no SE Michigan Golf Tournaments as in the past, etc etc...............
Talk about Regression !

Apparently, many WMU Administrators are unaware of the fact that,
SOCIAL MEDIA will never, never, never replace the MEET AND GREET, EYEBALL TO EYEBALL,
and the HEARTY HANDSHAKE !

As we've mentioned before, if you wish to have WMU Alumni invest in our Alma Mater,
It's a good thing to invest in our Alumni.

The recent meeting with the new President, according to our Operatives, being scheduled
during the work week, in downtown Detroit, was so poorly attended that they had to give
tickets away!

Who's Genius Idea was it to insult the WMU Alumni of Southeastern Michigan and
President Montgomery?

Perhaps, President Montgomery, could look into these matters, and use his creative
talents, to create a New and Progressive Western Michigan University Alumni Association.

No one else seems interested, or capable of operating a Functioning
WMU Alumni Association
