NIU is worse.

RE: Da'Shonte Riley's EMU debut Tuesday
I believe my 'prediction' was for say 8 wins this season.

Believe I posted in another thread that maybe Riley is worth two more wins (was one last night?).

Ten wins for this season would be very good, considering the cupboard was pretty bare (and the schedule is crazy).

Fifteen is a good prediction for next season.

Anything more than 15 means Murphy is way ahead of schedule on his building project. 04-cheers

We were lucky to win this game, many times Radford's players stripped the ball from our big men and were all over the floor, they gave it 110%.
We need to see that effort from our team.

I was listening to the game on the Radford sports network. Every team we play seems to have a sports network except EMU. Hopefully with some success we will have a EMU sports network some day.

I'll still with a 10 win prediction as well. Anything over that is just frosting on the cake. The real problem is the replacement for Lampley next year. Harper and Sims are not the answer at the point guard position.

15 wins next year is pretty conservative. The fact that Murphy has gotten some wins out of this untalented squad tells me that 20 wins is possible with Bryant, Harrison, and Riley available for an entire season. Let's face it, the defense has been outstanding this year, scoring points has been the problem. That will change next year.

Agree. It will be up to Harrison and Bryant. If they are go to scorers we will win 15 - 18 next year.

Radford's network did a first class job. And yes, once again WEMU missed the boat. The Detroit Free Press listed the game on WEMU and what do we hear instead? Some crappy, blues and jazz garbage that 5 people (maybe) were tuned in for. If those people didn't have their heads up their asses, they'd known that Riley was making his debut and there would have been a few extra listeners just out of curiosity. Seriously, if I'm an EMU recruit, I'd be PISSED that the local radio station is playing cool jazz instead of MY GAME! Can we finally get rid of the albatross that is WEMU? They are worthless.

Texas Southern had a great broadcast as well. Amazing isn't it? These teams actually have commercial sponsors ie local businesses that are supported by college kids actually supporting broadcasts of the college team's sports? It Revolutionary I tell you. :) And more than one station carrying the games. Amazing. Yep and WMU and CMU have in state networks.

EMU did have the audio on All-Access. So the real question is: Why would you send your radio team all the way to Radford and not broadcast it on the radio??? WTF? Guess those Ann Arborites that WEMU caters to can't get enough of that smooth jazz.

Hate to argue but GD, a good coach should do better than .500 with the roster Murphy will have next year. Last I checked, we haven't moved to the ACC.

Ha Ha! Smoooooth jazz junkies. Never mind that in 1955, this thing called ROCK AND ROLL came and rendered that stuff obsolete and IRRELEVANT. Quick, who's your favorite current jazz superstar? Oh wait, there aren't any alive still.

i agree that WEMU should support EMU activities over their music programming, but come one, there's plenty of good jazz around today. let's not celebrate ignorance.

And don't forget WDFN in Detroit, the station that Matt Sheppard works for, carries University of Toledo games!

Not celebrating ignorance. The truth is the genre is largely dead in popular culture. It has a niche audience that is extremely small. That is just a fact.

Interesting. Sounds like just his presence on defense is paying dividends. I think his offense will come with experience. Also sounds like he is not a fan of Derek Thompson, who ironically is our second best offensive weapon, on a team with few weapons.
