Two quotes from Mike Anderson in today's
Demozette that sound like he could be watching the Trojans play.
"Confidence is so important in the game of basketball, especially with a young team."You don't get confidence in getting beat. You get confidence in winning". And the second quote could be quoted about our offense every season. "I thought we did a lot of dribbling, too much dribbling" he said. "When you start dribbling, it disrupts the rhythm offensively".04-cheers

And it is a lot easier to get those wins when you coach a team that can afford to buy a bunch of them in the non-conference season.

Can't argue with that. But I find the second quote more appropriate to our offensive schemes through the years. We've always stood around out front dribbling the ball running valuable time off the clock. Even Wimp Sanderson, while doing a Trojan telecast a few years ago when Stevie Moore was playing, made the comment that you shouldn't be dribbling the ball unless you're advancing the ball toward the basket. Otherwise, you pass it. The ball moves a lot faster on a pass than any player can possibly dribble. Wimp might have been a sourpuss at times, but he was a heck of a game coach. And watching top teams like Duke and Florida play, I think those coaches would concur with the philosophy of getting the ball down the court and try to create an open three whenever you can. I don't think you can accuse Billy Donovan or Coach K of just rolling the ball out on the court and let the guys play, but they look to score quick on every possession if possible. If you are walking the ball down the court on most possessions and giving the opposition time to set up their defense, most teams have a hard time scoring.
