RE: The 5 Stages of an ECU fan
Funny thing is ECU isn't on a equal footing, yet ECU is still better than half the damn schools in the BCS. Im in the anger phase, and that is where I want to stay. I hope ECU's athletes, fans and coaches stay in that phase. ECU is and always has been at its best with a chip on their shoulder. Now our chip isn't just for NC State, UNC and other NC bretheren it includes the Big East. It is utter garbage and disrespectful we have been past over in this matter.
We have sold our our games vs lower level CUSA teams.
We have sold out game after game.
We have the best football fan base in the state.
We have better facilities then many in the country.
So yeah were pissed, and many of us won't reach acceptance. At least on those terms. Our acceptance will come when ECU does what ECU does and continues to put a competitive product on the field, and our anger is shoved down the throat of anyone fan, conference or media outlet that comes into Dowdy Ficklen Stadium. We dare you to put us on your schedule, help us alleviate our anger.

I'm more amused by the fact that there is actually a DePaul fan on here.

He's not a Depaul fan. That's a cover. He's really a closet Pirate. He just don't want to admit it cause he works as a secretary for Marinatto.

There's quiet a number of DePaul fans, just not just not on these boards. There is another guy on here as well, he post quiet often. We know we have sucked the past few years but we don't blame others for our failures-trying to remedy that but its still along ways to go.....

I think this thread was created to stir things up and make people angry. I feel ashamed for those who find this thread amusing. It's time that we learn to celebrate our diversity in healthy, meaningful ways. I just don't get why people try to be so controversial on these boards. There is a better way.

Yep the day we ever just accept our so called place in the world is the day I stop loving this university. We have never accepted no for an answer. If we had we wouldn't have reached university status, started a medical school, stayed D1A during the split, started a dental school, and so on. So I agree with you I hope we stay angry.

East Carolina is very deserving of a Big East invite. More so than Houston, SMU, Boise, and SDSU.

We won't mind; we wont even whine and complain since we are not dependent on an AQ status. From our performance the past 5-6 years, we were better off in the Patriot league, noone to blame but ourselves but the old coach that took us that path to the basement got the boot a year and a half ago.

Shot below the belt on my part, so I take it back. I wouldn't want that wished upon my school and I shouldn't wish it upon another.

Leave it to Miko to interject some lighthearted ironic comedy into the thread.
Good job!
