The ACC blows in FB and they knew it, that's why they went after Miami. VT was forced upon them and you were invited for the mistaken notion that you bring the Boston TV market. Welcome to PSU's nightmare. You're a NE team in a southern conference. Your recruiting in the NE is going to dry up and there is no way you'll get alot of southern kids to come to Bahstn. When the two sides split in 2010 I'll be amazed if you don't come crawling back to the BE.
Say what you want, the ACC was better than the BE and Pac-10 before expansion. [I also consider the BE better than the Pac-10... but another story for another day] In fact, the year before they had the highest final Sagarin of all the conferences, and won the ESPN Bowl Trophy.
I realize there is this stigma attached to ACC football before expansion, so I won't even bother to argue beyond that.
maybe you should check to see which conference won the espn bowl trophy for the three years prior to the acc winning it. It was the BE.

Head-to-head is skewed unless done in a style of the ACC-Big10 Challenge.
If thats what helps you to sleep at night.

Look no further than your very own Wilkie. Back on the old Conference Realignment Board he made just about a post a day that Louisville was headed for the ACC, despite being told repeatedly that the ACC wouldn't lower it's academic standards for pretty much a slightly above average basketball program.

I suppose you're a Clemson fan, catdaddy? That would explain the bragging about your conference but the conspicuous silence about your own team. I guess I'd talk up my conference too if I were you because they absolutely carry you guys.

And that makes sense because one fan makes up the opinion of a city of 700,000 right? Pure genius on that comment.
Gotta love a BC fan and a Clemson fan telling us what most Louisville fans wanted. Have either of you even been to Louisville? I doubt it.

a) If you're calling me the BC fan, you're mistaken. Don't know where you got that impression. I'm a GT grad/fan.
b) Yes, I've been to Louisville. Plus I have family in Versailles. Huge Wildcat fans who talked about this all the time and kept warning me about why the ACC shouldn't take them in. Plus Louisville and GT have played a fair number of games together and back then my rapport with Cardinal fans visiting ATL or with Cardinal fans when visiting Louisville offered the same sentiment: They wanted to be in a stable, established conference and always felt somewhat unsettled. Be it the Metro, CUSA, whatever. I'm not saying that UofL would've turned down the B10 or other offers just to join the ACC, but that at the time no other "major" conference appeared capable of doing such an expansion. And many ACC fans at the time would've loved the idea. We're all suspicious of how BC fans will embrace this new family, but surely wouldn't have had those suspicions with Louisville had they been a part of this equation.
c) Again, I'm happy for Cardinal fans who've worked hard to raise their program to this level. Just curious to know why the schadenfreude complex?

You'll love BC fans
Being in ATL--you'll probably get some of the transplants to go to the game. BC fans do not travel well.
However, most BC fans go the game as a social status event: Muffy will arrive late in the second quarter with her boyfriend/husband, start talking on the her cell phone through the third quarter and then will tell her man it is time to go with 12:00 left on the clock.
Most internet BC fans are delusional: they think their school is Harvard, their women are hot, and their sports teams are national powers. Just remember BC had an overall losing record in the Big East Football Conference.
