RE: New Big East
You gotta love some of the responses to this thread (which, it must be said, are identical to the responses made to every other thread posted here since August). What if the Big 12 does this? If such-and-such a school is so great, why didn't the ACC want them?

I know I sound like a broken record with my attempts to sound positive about the new Big East. But it beats the hell out of the constant put-downs. Get over it, people. The ACC took 2 teams that used to be good and that have good academics. They're gone. The Big 12 took another school, and apparently somebody tweeted a week or 2 ago that the Big 12 may or may not expand again, and a whole 'nother thread was started in which everybody started yet another Big East bash-session.

What's the point? Is it so impossible just to sit back, look at the quality of the teams we're bringing in and the new cities and fan bases they represent and, for just a couple of minutes, refrain from the put-downs? We lost 3 schools and we won't get them back. But nobody is saying that the Big East is going to make *less* money from our next TV deal than we now make. Most people are saying we'll still do quite well. And though we lost some tradition and a single AAU membership, we've got some great up-and-comers on the way in.

I'll continue to celebrate the new Big East, and I won't stop saying that our future's bright.

RE: New Big East
The Big East is a better football conference but a weaker basketball conference; however, everyone acts like football is dead. WVU has been really good since 2005 but Syracuse has one winning season since 2001 and Pitt has had some solid seasons but not enough of them.

If Syracuse and Pitt didn't flop who knows what conference they would be in?

For starters...Names...

We are SDSU, not SDS (now if you want to piss us off on purpose, call us SDS 04-cheers).

San Diego State football is on a steady walk, heading upwards. Back to back 8-4 seasons and we think we will be better in all of the next 3 years.

If Ronnie Hillman comes back (and he should), the Aztecs should win 8 or 9 next season.

Good Luck. At least you guys will build up the frequent flier miles.
