I wish the MAC would have/had gone for Navy, Air Force, Army.

The MAC has tried to get Navy and Army for years.....they always turn the MAC down.

Brian does this mean Conference USA reaches out to MAC schools? I would think that they want members for all sports meaning Temple and U Mass would not be considered.

It appears that the new Big East conference will fit perfectly with those other misnamed conference such as the Big 10 or the PAC 10 or the Big 12-----you would think that as citadels of higher learning, the member schools would be embarrassed by such obvious misrepresentations---I guess that the big $$$$ go a long way to making it acceptable.

Will they re-name the conference... C-USA truly makes sense.

Why not drop EMU, Kent, Akron, Buffalo and BG, the remaining teams form the north division of a conference that combines with the Sun Belt or the East division of a merger with the WAC or MWC?

Here's a better Question. Why do that? Kent and Akron recently have been holding basketball together in the MAC. Without them many sports take a downward spiral. I like being in the MAC. What we gain from having BG and Kent, is equal to what we gain from WKU or MT? And those add to travel expenses. Marshall made the move to C-USA and now they suck. Not because of the compition, they just aren't nearly as good.

The last time I am aware of C-USA reaching out to any MAC schools was right after Marshall and UCF left.....Toledo and Miami U were contacted, but declined. Boneheaded move, IMO, by the last UT president.

No, Marshall got rid of Pruett, cleaned up their program and then it went downhill. I think Doc has it moving in the right direction. 3 of their 6 losses this season were to Houston, S. Miss. and Va Tech. The Herd had a nice win over Louisville.

RE: OT:The Big East is Growing
meant you only play divisional games, no cross overs until the league championship, ok do you take the top 8 teams attendence -wise, or those that do not pass NCAA attendence requirements

RE: OT:The Big East is Growing
So, with Boise joining it's just about time for the BCS to de-certify the Big East as an AQ conference...
