#7 Louisville

#21 Georgetown
#32 Villanova
#33 Marqutte
#34 West Virginia
#39 Notre Dame

Have problem with UCONN as #10. We should be in the top 3-5 in the country right now. I guess we will have to win another title next year to settle this.

UCONN fans are excited about next year, we are totally loaded. We will be like a NBA team full of rookies.

This is historically. Forgive me if I'm wrong, but before the 80's did UConn have much of a history? Syracuse never won a title until a couple of years ago, so that keeps them off the list as well, IMO.

Before the 90's UConn wasnt much...however 2 titles puts them pretty high on the list...now we need to get our 3rd.

Four Final Fours, national leader in attendance, one national title, three national title games, haven't had a losing season since the 60s I think there is some history--plus national championships by acclimation before the NCAA/NIT in the 1920s. How is Arkansas or UConn better?

If you're talking historically UC is in the Top 10. I think people are putting UConn there because of recent success but UConn has been to two Final Fours and have two national championships. UC has been to 6 Final Fours, 3 national championship games and have 2 national championships.

Correction also, Street's and Smith has UC as #10 not #11.

UC is also going to be ridiculously stacked. I know some UC fans have reservations, but I really believe that next year's squad, despite the youth, have the talent to get to the Final Four. And Huggs has about 3 or 4 more scholarships to add to next year's squad. We actually are going to have a stud PG. Whenever we have a stud PG we're a Top 5 team so I'm definitely pumped! 04-cheers

UC doesn't have the big men underneath to be final four material next year. Lay of the crack, claw :)

We also don't know how how are PG play will be. I'd wait a while and see where we are at.

They aren't, at least not in terms of all-time programs. Also, SU presently ranks 6th in all-time wins (which, I know, can be more of an indicator of how long the program has existed rather than how good it is). But, SU also is presently 7th in overall winning percentage (for programs that have existed a minimum of 25 years).

Within 2 years we will be #5 in all-time wins, overtaking St. John's and #6 in winning percentage overtaking UCLA which is only .002 ahead of us after this season. Within 5 years we will likely be #5 in winning percentage as UNLV, once up in the high .700s, is tumbling toward high .600s levels at an extremely fast pace.

Of course #5 is as high as we will likely ever go on both scales, but seeing as how Kentucky, UNC, Kansas, and Duke will be the four that will remain ahead of us, that's not such bad company to be ranked in the Top 5 with.

#15 MY ******!!!!!!

Cheers,
Neil

Programs sustain success today, the pass 5 to 10 years, are much more difficult than what accomplish 30 or 40 years ago. There are competitions, more than 300 divisions I play basketball, less scholarships, underclass leave early, and more games for national championship. So you give current accomplishment more weight otherwise we need to redefine history to be no fewer than 30 years.

No offense, top programs in the country today are the following: Kentucky, Duke, UCONN, UNC, Kansas,Syracuse and Arizona. Winning today is 20 times harder than 20 years ago. It is fine some programs win 25 years ago when there were few D-1A programs. Today's players are much better.

Total domination of the BE in the 90's and recently prove UCONN is great. 2 national champs in the last 6 years is something NO ONE in the country has done.

Next year, UCONN should be preseason top 3 even if Charles V. leaves for the NBA. We already have one of the best PGs in the country. Our front court is basically a NBA front court. Our backcourt should be much better with top 25 AJ Price and incoming top SG in Marcus Johnson.

No offense, but the title of this thread is Greatest College Hoops Programs of All-Time.

If you wish to start another thread about the greatest college hoops programs of today, be my guest. I'll be happy to explain why Arizona isn't one of them.

Cheers,
Neil

My two cents on it: It has too many different boards choices. Nothin kills a site quicker than 22 different boards with almost all having just a handful of postings. Kinda like this one but CUSA activity and Cinci fans help keep cetain ncaaabbs forums fairly active . P.S. I don't like the graphics, color and sign in procedures for the other Big East Board. Good posters there but not enough activity.

You can add Arkansas to that also, what have they done since 1994?
