5 PM? Why couldn't they have done this at 5 AM? Why the delay?

Damn, the secret's out. I'll come clean... SDSU only agreed to join the Big East in order to attract the attention of the Pac-12. Now that we are in a "Big Boy" conference the Pac-12 will realize they need to secure the San Diego market and just HAVE to have us. We plan to get a call from Larry Scott any day now. So don't get your hopes up too much for the Aztecs.

FINALLY!!!
Hey, THE ROCK!!!
Let the stories begin.
Did you guys hear that our great mascot Monty Montezuma got into it with The Rock at the Aztec/Miami football game in the 90's?
Of course The Rock was playing for Miami and a fight broke out on the field that ended up near the tunnel and stands. "Monty" was in the first row of stands getting all over the Miami players. The Rock tried to jump into the stands to get him.
The Rock still talks about it in interviews these days.

You're kidding, right?
No, Boise has made a killing on recruiting the Inland Empire. It's a fast growing area that has been largely ignored by most of the BCS schools that recruit CA. Orange County is another area here that is, with a few exceptions, ignored by BCS schools.
I'm not a Californian (so you may very well be right), but from the outside looking in, that would be shocking to me. The Pac-12 specifically setup their divisions so all of their members would be able to play in California at least once per year because all of those schools are almost completely dependent upon California recruiting. On Oregon's roster, there's about twice as many players from California as there are from Oregon. It would be insane to me to think that Orange County is underrecruited, too - I have relatives in Irvine, Orange and Newport Beach and that area probably has one of the highest per capita rates of developing pro athletes anywhere. Once again, you may know better than me, but WOW if that's actually true.
True this...The Inland Empire has been under recruited for years. Many City players that want to get away from the inner city trouble end up moving out there. The programs and talent are growing each year.
The Aztecs gets many football AND basketball players from out in that area.

Had they done that in the first place, the reason for this conference wouldn't exist...
