RE: USM
Missed shot. Can't get the rebound. Have to foul 3 times just to get to 7 team fouls so they shoot. Makes both.

Oh well, at least they showed heart.
We would have given these guys a serious challenge if Roberson were healthy.

RE: USM
Ridiculously terrible first half sunk us. Curious to hear what CRA has to say.

RE: USM
We made the same number of FG as them. 3s were the difference.

FJG had a tough night with only one field goal and six assists against six turnovers. He played hard and well, but they blanketed him. I think they'll need more TA (who has to start scoring a little) and FJG playing the two.

RE: USM
They were 14-25 from 3. Wow.

I wish I thought that TA could score.

Ammons will be fine. He's played in all of 7 games in college. He has a lot to learn, but I think he'll get there.

They never really seemed to give up. I'm too ignorant about basketball to really understand the mechanics of the game, but I was proud to see them play as hard as they looked like they were.

edit: reworded everything

I thought Lundy and Jones were positives tonight. FJG had a tough night. Four of his turnovers must have been off lobs inside that just didn't work, but in a strange way I find it encouraging that he didn't quit trying them. I'll take a PG who makes some turnovers by trying to make plays over a timid or selfish PG any day.

I was encouraged enough by the hustle and effort of the second half tonight that I take this game, all in all, as another step in the right direction as we get ready for conference play.

Ammons struggles to score but atleast gets alot of boards..Anderson has done nothing.I had high expectations for him and he may very well come around but as of now he is not doing what I thought he would do.Last year we lose this game by 40.Proud of the guys for fighting to the end

It looked like we were trying to run a 1-3-1 zone for a while, but then players just started running all over the place. I remember in the 2nd half TA ran from one side of the court to the other defending 2 guys. There always seemed to be at least one man open in the zone scheme last night. Our players weren't rolling to their assignments. Contending with a 6'10" guard doesn't help either.

Last year we did lose by 35.

Right now, Lundy is clearly the best offensive player we have.

Totally agree about Anderson. Major disappointment thus far(keeps throwing
alley oop passes up against the backboard).

I agree about TA. But, to be fair, FJC had his share of bad passes last night, too.

We are a terrible zone defense team right now, at least what I've seen. I guess they've got to get some in game work some time, by why not play the whole against Alcorn St zone instead.
