Point guard, D'Andre, not shooting guard. You are not the shooting guard. You are supposed to have lots of assists, very few turnovers, and shoot when you need to. You took THREE TIMES AS MANY SHOTS AS ANYONE ELSE ON THE TEAM. That would be OK if you are red hot, but you weren't making them, and in the meantime you had eight turnovers and only three assists. Let's get back to basics.

Pappy we do 20 seconds worth of pointing and talking before "going to it" and he ends up having to shoot the ball.

We don't look to turn the corner on the we've out front until the last 12 seconds on the shot clock.

Two things need to change

1. Steve has to do his coaching in practice and timeouts. Not each time down the court for half the hot clock

2. The kids have to move with purpose for all of the shot clock, not just the end of it.

I did like Steve putting the basketball players on the court. That was a good change.

Against the 2 - 3 to start we moved the ball well but the smu coach changed it up a little and we could not get going after that.

Chucky is the new Stevie moore for holding the ball and staring at the zone while no one moves. You got to drive the gap or pass the ball. Looking at the zone and passing across court is not attacking the zone and making it move.

There is enough outside shooting on this team to beat a zone, if we move the ball and attack the gaps.

Whoever is at fault, Dre is not shooting well enough to be shooting three times as much as anyone else. And when your point guard has only two more assists than turnovers this far into the season, that ain't good!

Sometimes stats are somewhat deceiving. When you see the games in person, it probably gives you a better perspective of what's going on. Not disputing the facts. Those are right there for us to see. But Dre's doing a good job of holding the team together into Steve gets all the pieces in place. I still think this is going to be a decent SBC team this year, and better in the future with the recruiting we're doing. I'm just enjoying the games for the entertainment, and though I'd obviously like to win more than lose, I'm trying to keep a perspective and keep a positive attitude that we are going to start winning soon. Probably not until after the Mo State game (not counting the exhibition against Philander), but soon. Well at least once we start playing conference games.

I've been telling you guys that Steve doesn't or can't coach offense basketball. He does a good job as the defensive coordinator, but hasn't shown me **** coaching offense. I've also been saying that the constant running up and down the sideline yelling at the players is not good. I like Foley's coaching style(and offense)much better.

But I know, Steve is a nice guy. I agree.

He has to get the current situation fixed, for sure.

About half-way throught, I turned to Inside and Yncopirt and said DeAndre was having a terrible game. 21 points was great, but he was turnover the ball a ton.
