Tough news for ASU fans
Hugh Freeze will be announced as the new coach at Ole Miss tomorrow. i guess the last coach they hired from Arkansas didn't work out so well, but I think Freeze is a good choice. Tough news for ASU. He did too much, too quickly. He goes 7-5 or 8-4 this year, all ASU fans are thrilled but no way he gets an SEC job (his dream job being from Mississippi). But 10-2 was just too good.

RE: Tough news for ASU fans
I know the ASU fans hated to lose him, but I was really surprised the nasty things they have said about him on their board. Nobody should be upset with someone bettering themselves by getting a better job and I'm sure a tremendous pay raise. Many of the post talked about him like he was a dog.

Sure wish Shields would have a great year like that. Maybe someone would hire him.

I read those posts as well. I can understand their feelings. But realistically the guy was the lowest paid coach in DI. He is from Mississippi. He had a chance to coach in the SEC and make a ton more money. You got to strike while the iron is hot. Ask Mike Newell. Even if he only lasts there 3 years, he will make more money in that time than most Americans make in their life times.
