UofL's local radio network deal has been expanded now to include stations in Indianapolis, Frankfort, Lexington, Cincinnati and others.
How do UC fans feel about UL getting an affiliate up there?

Not sure you will have many listeners this is big UK, UC, Ohio State and Miami of Ohio territory. Not a lot of room for UL.
this is just a Clear Channel way of appeasing UL after taking away WHAS.
Overall I think it sucks

See that is the way I see it. I hate big blew getting the priority on the main Clear Channel over the Cards in Louisville. But that has more to do with the significance and history of WHAS in the Louisville Market, and being the Louisville news stations it was a slap in the face. But I wouldn't mind the Bearcats being aired on another sports station in Louisville, I would love to hear more Big East games. I would think they would too. I mean I would listen to a Cincy Rutgers game if the Cards weren't on and it wasn't on TV.

I have no problem with it. UC is on 700WLW, which is 50000 Watts. Their games are heard from Illinois down past Tennessee out into West Virginia and Pennsylvania (and probably far western Virginia). Hell, I remember Calipari saying a few years ago that while on a recruiting trip he had his assistant fill in for his radio show, and in eastern Tennessee he couldn't hear his own show, so he listened to Huggins show instead.
If UL has the following and 1530 is able to make money on the deal, more power to them. If not, UL won't make it more than a year or two on that station...

UK came in and bought what they couldn't earn, paying clear channel 1.1 million a year to do so. The laugh is on them though being that any games that don't conflict are still broadcast on WHAS, we got our own station controlled by the Louisville AD which is currently the Fox Sports affiliate in Louisville plus a regional network from cincy to indy to nashville and across Kentucky. WHAS will soon be switching to a digital signal with which it will be possible for them to broadcast 2 games at the same time and for the listener to select which feed to recieve. Plus we signed a deal with Sirius. UK paid for outdated technology imo.

You can hear WLW and WHAS usually pretty good in Upstate NY.
BTW, Syracuse has two 50,000 watters carrying their games. WHAM (Rochester) 1180am and WGY (Albany/Schnectady)810am. Unfortunately, WOWO out of Ft Wayne 1190am would block out WHAM most of the time when I lived in Indiana. WGY didn't seem to carry quite as far but you could hear it down to Virginia.
Syracuse pretty much has Upstate NY covered, Vermont, NE Pennsylvania and parts of New England and downstate NY and NJ.

-- I think that is the attitude everyone needs to have....the sooner southern Ohio and northern Kentucky see themselves as being "BE country" the better...the more BE games that are on the air in that region the better
