I think it more likely WVU will end up in the Sugar Bowl.
I'd say this is a possibility if Georgia wins the SEC Championship game. A rematch of the 2006 Sugar Bowl would get some notice. But that's probably the only way WVU gets picked for the Sugar Bowl, even with WVU's large traveling fanbase...

I could be wrong. But as long as WVU doesn't have to face Alabama, I'm okay with it...

'Bama will be in the NC game regardless of how it shakes out this weekend. Actually, I think LSU will too.

I guess it's possible, although hardly probable, that OkSU absolutely brutalizes OU and throws a wrench into it.

IMO, if OKS beats OK, they would merit the national title game berth versus LSU over Alabama. They'd have played at least as tough a schedule, they'd be conference champs (of the best conference this season), and they wouldn't have already lost to LSU.

Sadly, it likely won't shake out that way. The pollsters are dead-set on Alabama being in that game ...

That depends on how much the computer like OSU, and they do like the Cowboys. OSU ain't out of it yet. Although if they lose to Oklahoma, scratch that idea...

Anyone who has followed my BCS Conference Comparison knows that the computers will move OKS past Alabama if OKS wins this weekend and why: The Big12 has been the best conference this year.

Sadly, the human pollsters are 2/3 of the formula, and they have Alabama way ahead of OKS and are unlikely to change their minds in the numbers necessary to get OKS past Alabama.

One thing that will help is if VT loses to Clemson, as that will drop VT behind OKS, automatically closing some of that gap with Alabama. A loss by LSU would also help, since it would highlight the fact that OKS is a conference champ while neither LSU nor Alabama would be.

But it's an awful big gap to overcome ...

Clemson came out on top the first time they played, which should give the Tigers some confidence coming into the game...

They have faltered mightly lately and VT keeps plugging along like they have for the last 15 years or so.

It depends on how Boyd plays. The last few games he's been banged up. Hopefully he's ready to go for Clemson tomorrow...
