What if McCain/Palin had won?
How do we think the last three years would have played out?

Healthcare reform?
Libya?
Iraq?
Afghanistan?
Finance Industry Reform?
Supreme Court Appointees?
Stimulus?
Bush Tax Cuts?
Deficit reduction plan?
Gulf Oil Spill response?
Bin Laden?

Pretty much the same except there would be no health care mandate, and we'd probably be in even more wars/conflicts/"humanitarian missions" than Obama has gotten us into.

So if it really didn't matter whether Obama or McCain won, isn't the GOP better off with Obama winning? This way they can try to boot him out in 2012 as opposed to having to support McCain if he ran for another term.

At this point...both gangs have screwed the country up so badly that it really makes no difference who is in charge. They both suck ass. I have zero confidence that ANY of our current leadership is capable of putting aside their little turf wars and actually doing anything positive for America. We are truly f'ed.

RE: What if McCain/Palin had won?
• An increased concentration on following the principles of limited government
• The elimination of 35% of the federal government
• The encouragement of free enterprise and entrepreneurship
• A balanced budget amendment
• Ability to line item veto
• Increased clarity to the tax code
• A reduction in overseas military interventions
• A large tax cut to the middle class
• Unemployment at 5%
• An increased focus on state’s rights
• More drilling and fracking permits
• Very limited federal government involvement in social issues
• Strengthening of private property rights
• Strengthening of gun ownership rights

Well, one can hope. 03-lmfao

Who controls the house and senate when we assume McCain Palin win?

Good point. You'd have to discount the Tea Party fervor that stemmed from Obama's 2008 victory and contributed to some house and senate victories for the GOP.

Dems probably would have kept both in 2010.

Probably the Dems with very large margins in both houses. Historically, the midterms in a Presidents first term are not pretty for his party. They almost always lose some seats and most landslides occur during that period. 2010, 1994, 1990, 1982, 1946 as examples.

Unicorn pony?

Sorry, I'm not knowledgable about equines, although I did see Secretariat recently.

This is why I voted Libertarian and wanted Obama to kneecap McCain. Scorched Earth. I'd rather flush this thing in a hurry than take the scenic route. The idea being if we drop fast enough, maybe people in the GOP will WAKE THE **** UP to the fact that most of their leadership is garbage Dem-lite.
