I think that it's not impossible to see how Boeheim could've thought that they were liars. I mean how many situations have occurred when people have piggy-backed off of legitimate claims for money?

I don't think Boeheim is going anywhere. It is unfortunate that his trip to realizing the guy he thought he knew and trusted had a very dark secret.

There's a huge difference between Boeheim and Paterno...Paterno was told and had knowledge of Sandusky's transgressions.

Quote:On thing that looks certain is Syracuse University didn't try to cover up anything.

Herman Frazier, the SU associate AD who would have had oversight, was our AD and may well be the stupidest human on the face of the planet.

Herman did not try to cover anything up. He lacks the mental capacity to SPELL "cover up," much less engage in one.

Wasn't he at Hawaii? I think he's one of the reasons JJ left Hawaii.

Can't say you're wrong on that, nasty. I'd like to, but I can't because that's the truth.

Yes. Herman's cut quite the swath of destruction:

At Arizona State, he was associate athletic director in charge of compliance during the point-shaving scandal.

At UAB his hands-off, brain-off management style set us on our current path of crapulence.

At Hawaii he drove off June Jones IV.

Not sure what he did to screw up Temple, his next stop, but sure he did something stupid there.

And now at Syracuse, he's got to be the one who blabbed to Pete Thamel about Bernie Fine (Herman could never, ever keep his mouth shut and I am quite sure he leaked the SU-ACC deal to Thamel).

The man is the poster child for failing upward. By talent and ability, he should be living under a bridge somewhere. But he's traded on his Olympic medal for 35 years now and will no doubt be the sole survivor of this scandal. If Herman's past record holds true, not only will Boeheim get immolated in this fire, so will Dave Gross and Floyd Little, and Herman will inherit the top job.

I agree with you; but that statement he made of blaming the victims was vile.

If the story stays as is then Boeheim isnt going anywhere. To our knowledge, his only fault was defending his friend when his friend told him that the accusations were false. I would've done the same thing in his situation knowing what he seems to have known.

Absolutely. He will never get those words back and will regret saying that for a long time.

Defending his friend was fine. Ruthlessly attacking the victims was not.

IMO if you let it go on even when you're a grown man, you are no longer a victim.

So molesting a young boy is OK if that boy learns to like it over time?

Congrats. You might have authored the idiotic post of the year.

That's not what I meant. I meant that I initially found it strange how someone could allow it to happen long after you're big enough to handle yourself.

SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- The media director for Syracuse University's athletic department is no longer employed by the school and, according to a newspaper report, is being investigated by police.

Roger Springfield does not work for the university any more, Kevin Quinn, senior vice president for public affairs at the university, said Wednesday night. Quinn did not provide additional information.

The Post-Standard of Syracuse reported hours earlier that Springfield is under investigation by Syracuse police and the district attorney's office. No one answered at the door of Springfield's residence Wednesday night.

And so was I...lots of folks wanted to hang him. Let's see: Feds dropped investigation, Lawsuit dropped by the lairs looking for money, four accusers all discredited to various degrees, two of them in jail and Jim Boeheim just won his 900th game.

According to Wikipedia, Frazier left UAB with a $7.5 million annual deficit.

How is that even possible? That must have been almost half your budget. 04-jawdrop
