Not only which sport, but in what time frame?

Will a BE team win a football championship in 2005? No
Will a BE team win a men's bb championship in 2006? Yes

Will a BE team win a football championship within the next 5 years. Yes.

Cheers,
Neil

I'm not expecting an NC from the Football side this year. From the basketball side I tend to think that either Louisville, Connecticut, or Villanova have legitimate shots at it. Within the next 5 years however, one program will step up and win the Football NC. My thinking is either Louisville, Pitt, or WVU. I also think that may come as soon as 2006 and we will have a second BCS team the year it happens as well.

I agree with Omni. No title this year in Football. I'm praying for a football title for Brian Brohm and UofL his senior season. Why his senior season? Because if he has a good soph and Jr year, UofL will be able to surround him with some incredible recruits which should result in a good shot at a title. Also, the Big East should be stronger from top to Bottom which means by that time wins in the conference will mean a lot more than they will next year.

A basketball championship? I'd be disappointed if we don't have at least two teams in the final four most years.

GO BIG EAST[SIZE=14][COLOR=red] 04-cheers

Hate to burst your bubble animus, but Brian Brohm is one of the guys LEAST likely to go pro early no matter how good he is. His brother is his coach, and they are not hurting for expendable income. In fact, all most his whole family is involved with coaching so I am sure he will want his degree.

The only way I can see Brohm leaving early is if he wins a title before his senior year...otherwise, he has stated that his childhood dream was to win a national title at Louisville. It is not only his dream but the dream of his family (I think it was mentioned that his two brothers played at UofL...but his father was a starter there as well).

Notre Dame can take a long walk off a short pier. Who cares about them. They are not relevant at this point.

If we lose the Gator Bowl my feeling on Notre Dame is either $-hit or get off the pot.

I think you are referring to Football? Not until sometime aftr 2010. The BE has a lot of work to do and it will be hard getting respect from the pollsters. Kind of hard to win a championship if you are not one of the two teams invited. The BCS system is unfair. The BE took a huge hit. They need time to recover.

If you want an honest answer then you need to ask honest question, including Notre Dame in the question is not honest.

Don’t confuse national name recognition with COMPETING for the national title. It has been a few years now that Notre Dame is not in top 25 ranking, pre-season or end of season.
