LOL! That was fun. Final score 87-78 Houston! Raising our record to 3-0. I'm really impressed with the athleticism the new staff has recruited. Physically, we matched up very well. Should be an interesting season.

Great win. Our boys had some solid FG%.

James Dickey on track for his second season.

A road win over a name school is always nice. I'm not sure how much it shows though. Arkansas has been poor for some time, finishing 9th in the SEC last season.

Any win over a Mike Anderson coached team is a good win. That said, I wasn't paying as close attention to Arkansas as I was UH. This is succch a young team and yet they were poised and aggressive. Talent-wise its night and day to last year.

Arkansas fans commenting on Hogville.net are saying their team this year is also night and day difference from last year and despite the loss, have high hopes their young team will gel and have a good season.

Both teams are VERY young.

This game felt like the good old days of Coog hoops for me... when UH and Arky used to go at it twice a year!

Still feels damn good to get a win over them!

It's a nice win. It looks good on the bottom of the TV screen.

The SEC specializes in FB. Academics & BB? Not so much.

Hey, hey ... UH's Alandis Harris is ESPN's #1 play of the day for his dunk against Arkansas. Not bad on a night ISU pulls off a huge upset.

Nice win UH! You guys are ready for BE basketball. UCONN get Arkansas in a few weeks so we will find how our young guys do against them.

I felt bad for Mike Anderson when the Mizzou fans were mad at him, after UC beat him in the tourny last year. He's a great recruiter. Doesn't seem to care much for size or defense. More a run and gun style.
Anyway, good win Houston!

I kind of thought this was a football post for a moment lol
Guess I need to follow things more closely.

What happened to Houston? They were 3-0 after that road win. Now they've lost 4 of 5 and none of the teams they lost to are any good. Losses to TCU, Oakland, LSU, and tonight Texas St are pretty ugly. Are season expectations being re-evaluated or is something going on with the team?

I don't think anything bad is going on. We have some talent, but also have some flaws (no true center, no dominant inside post or perimeter threat) - just a lot of athleticism. We're not getting much out of the point, but I think there is a reason Joe Young was so highly regarded - I'm sure he'll get it going. I don't have much in the way of expectations for this year. We add a top flight 2, 4 and a true 5 next year to go with Young at 1 and some solid athletic forwards we have on the team now. That should be more of a rounded squad.

Thanks for the explanation. I was curious after seeing last night's score on the ticker and then checking out results from the past few weeks.
