RE: Would you fire Ruff?
Well, you might turn up getting an Ellis Johnson. I don't know but I saw a pretty good team with ECU going against a pretty good team in ULL. You did sit out the bowl season in 11 but were there again this season. What happens with your new conference is still up in the air and how it will fair will have to be seen later. I just hope it all works out for ECU, since USM does have (or did) a great relationship with ECU.

I didn't vote since it really doesn't affect my team.

I'll give him one more year, but Mitchell has to go. If he won't get rid of Mitchell then Ruff needs to go. Hopefully, he learned from Logan's mistake of holding onto Rose.

Two bowl berths in first three years after a major retooling of offensive and defensive schemes as well as a major turnover of seniors to start with? Over .500 overall.

There might be some cause for staff changes but I don't think you can pull the trigger on the HC at this time.

Skip left with 20+ seniors graduating. the inexperience showed. playing and recruiting is getting consistently better. so easy to sit behind a nickname and complain

Definitely easier than sitting through a Navy v. ECU game... the option beat us again today by the way. Ruff stay, Mitchell Go.

He lead them to a bowl game. There are a ton of other coaches who failed to do that.

No, I think Ruff and Riley are on the right path, but need to manage the game a little better. MITCHELL NEEDS TO HIT THE BRICKS though after giving up 591 yards with almost a month to prepare. The chain is only as strong as it's weakest link. Defensively, we've had "some" good efforts, but "some" ain't cutting the mustard anymore.

No...He does though need to address the defensive woes of his club. He is the boss. It is his responsibility to see to it that the job gets done. If not...demote or replace whoever he needs to make that happen. ECU's defense is simply horrible. It has to be corrected..or heads need to roll.

Barbara Carr would say our defense ain't coming close to licking around the jar.

RE: Would you fire Ruff?
Back to OP. No.

ECU was 7-1 in conference play, earned a well deserved bowl trip, and fell short against a good ULL team, after fighting back to get in the game after a slow start. I'd give my right eye and nut to have a similar season. Is it what you wanted? I doubt it. But damn! That is a good season. Be proud of what you did accomplish and build on it.

I think he would have to have consecutive seasons with less than 7 wins to get canned.

Ruff is an alum and loves ECU, plus he lost a lot of weight, so no.

Even more of a reason why it was a stupid poll. It was his second year...
