RE: Big change in BCS
Eliminating AQs is a move toward equality and away from entitlement. Boise State fans would be in favor of this concept in general. I think Boise State would still join the Big East even if AQ status is eliminated because of the TV deal. It's possible that money distribution of a AQ-less BCS system would make Boise State consider staying in the MWC, but Boise State can't make decisions based on hypothetical models.

Furthermore Boise State has obviously hit ceilings based on SOS of playing in the WAC or MWC and really needs higher level of competition. Boise State can't get BCS teams to come to Boise and therefore needs to join a good conference where teams win more games than they lose throughout the conference.

I do agree with Frank that no way would PAC12, B1G, Big East, or ACC be in favor of this change. It only reduces that chance that they get into a BCS bowl, and if the money is tied to number of teams in the BCS it puts that money at risk.

RE: Big change in BCS
Here why that won't fly, using that criteria of inviting the top 10 every year. In the past 4 years 2007-10
SEC would have 8 teams
BigTen also 8 teams
Big12 had 8 teams
PacTen had 5 teams
WAC had 4 teams
MWC had 3 teams
BigEast had 2 teams
ACC had 2 teams
Notice that at best the power conferences averaged 2 teams per year and in the case of ACC and Big East less than 1 per year

of course the WAC & MWC teams that are in those 7 are all in AQ conferences now anyway except Boise State and they are headed to Big East. What if you read do those numbers but use today's conferences & teams with assumption that Boise State is in the Big East. I know one of those Big East teams is Cincy, the other is WVU I assume. so Big East would have 5? ACC would have 3?
