Statement from Big East Presidents:

We, the Presidents of the member institutions of the Big East Conference, strongly support the litigation filed today by the Big East Conference against West Virginia University.

We believe that it is important to protect the integrity of the interests of the Big East Conference and its member institutions, and we are confident that these interests will prevail.

This will most likely turn out like the earlier suit against the ACC did. A few games scheduled and that's about it...

Figures. Wonder why no one is joining the Big Meatball?

My bet, WVU will be a member of the Big East next year, and pay $12 million. (same with others, actually this is what I expected from others but maybe WVU's suit will alter that)

Unless and until Meatball Marinara crosses the Monongahela River with an army of Providence Mafiamen, don't count on WVU sticking around the Big Joke one second longer than the end of the 2011-12 seasons.

The 27 month rule was made in 2005.

WVU wants out in 2012. The Big East won't let them out until 2014. Both file suit. The settlement will likely be an agreement to release WVU for the 2013 season. That's how these things always work. Also, this will coincide with Missouri joining the SEC in 2013. WVU will be stuck 1 year in the Big East, while Pitt and Syracuse will be stuck 2 years unless they also file suit.

I think the big joke is really the suit WVU filed.

You realize the Big East suit's not going to stand right? WVU is going to be in the Big 12 July 1, 2012. It's already been decided. All that's left is Meatball's tears and the matter of $10m-$21m.

BE's lawsuit is not frivolous. WVU's lawsuit is frivolous at best. WVU will be in the BE until 2014 unless BE let WVU out earlier at a much higher cost. All this for going to the B12 which is like winning a $50 lottery :)

Just because you decide something does not make it possible. You can be in the Big XII but your case is flimsy

The league was unstable because conference members, such as WVU, were looking elsewhere, and conference leadership and commitment, including WVU, was weak. Cuse and Pitt can argue they bolted because WVU was dripping to get into SEC as #14. That information seems pretty clear.

Let it go to discovery, it would be fun. WVU will be playing in the Big East UNLESS there are three new teams replacing ALL THREE outgoing teams.

WVU is leaving next season unless an injunction forces us to stay. Most legal experts will tell you that an injunction is unlikely.
