LaTech.
Taking market out of the formula, it appears to me that LaTech would make a great addition to CUSA. What do you guys think?

RE: LaTech.
Yes. They've been competitive for many years and have a fine tradition.

We need to do this:

ECU
Marshall
Memphis
UAB
USM
La Tech

Tulane
Tulsa
Rice
UTEP
CSU
UNM

Wyoming
Hawaii
UNLV
Nevada
SDSU
Fresno State

I think it's a no-brainer.

RE: LaTech.
I think 9 / 9 would be better. (MWC + UTEP. CUSA + La Tech). Championship game between MWC side and CUSA side to determine a champion.

9/9 has no crossover games, unless you went to 9 conference games, which no one wants. Everybody wants to visit Hawaii occasionally too.

To be honest, I want La Tech, but for some reason... Georgia State is becoming more attractive in my book.

They have 33,000 students, they play in the Georgia Dome, they have tons of living alumni... do you think a shot at C-USA football would light a spark with their fanbase?

So we will have another Tulane (no offense Tulane)?

Why would you want crossover games? Other than going to Hawaii (which is actually a HUGE pain in the @$$). You would have 2 "pure" champions on both sides to play for the championship.

I'm not sure about that... Tulane (to my knowledge) isn't that big. I wouldn't mind a conference road trip to Atlanta.

Funny, I was thinking about la tech. They have some history which I think is cool. But man, Ruston's population is a lot smaller than Greenville even.

Wouldn't be a close neighbor for ECU, but SoMiss, UAB, Tulane, Memphis, etc. are sure in the neighborhood.

La Tech doesn't help our travel and they aren't a very wealthy school.... its going to be FAU and MT IMO and SJSU and ISU for the MWC

Are you saying that 7 winning seasons in football within past 23 years is what you consider competetive?

If we expand, which I'd rather we not, we should only consider schools in tiny markets like Ruston and Boone so we can protect ourselves from future raids. 03-wink

Kind of like taking Bread out of my PB&J. All that's left is a goo.

18 works. So does 20, 21, 24, 27, 28, 32, & 36. Way more exciting that the 11 the Big East has put together.

FIU fans are pretty confident that they are upgrading to a full member of CUSA. Supposedly CUSA officials had backup plans set in place in case UCF did leave. They say the news will break after UCF officially announces.

If we're going to keep the biggest bag of peanuts we have to replace those markets.
