Make no mistake, those fans are upset because they didn't get an invite, they are upset and "agitated" with the system that rewards a school for its market and not its football history. Yes I'm speaking about UCF. There is not a single thing that UCF can point to that it has accomplished on the field that says "we've earned a BCS-AQ spot".
Since the OP is a mod, I would think that it should go without saying that this belongs on the conference realignment board and not in the CUSA board.
What an ignorant comment. Not like it matters when you factor in all the other reasons for expansion, but how about finishing ranked in all major polls? First and only team of this "generation" to beat an SEC team in the liberty bowl?
Please...
Perhaps you missed this part..... 4-47. Every team wins a few. (Few being the key word there.) Market and market alone got UCF the call.
Let's look at the 4-47 thing.
Prior to 2007 we were
1-36
Pitiful. And for so much of our history we've been either in poverty or horrible situations without any leadership or goals. Whether it was clawing our way up from the minor leagues to indy, or when we found ourselves with "rivalry" games with marshall and "MAC-tion" (which about killed our program. I'm still amazed we got out of it, C-USA was a Godsend.)
From 2007 to current:
2007: 1-3
2008: 0-3
2009: 0-3
2010: 1-2
2011: 1-0
3-11
Bad, but still an improvement. Lets look at accolades over this 5 year period:
1st conference championship (and 2nd)
1st home game win over BCS opponent
1st bowl victory (with it being over a BCS opponent)
1st victory over ranked opponent (#15 Houston)
1st time becoming ranked, and finishing ranked (+ in all major polls)
What you're telling me is these on the field accolades + numerous on and off the field developments (stadium, bball arena, indoor practice facility, athletic dorms, etc) which have all exploded over this 5 year period, you still don't feel UCF hasn't accomplished anything?
Well, while everyones has their's whipped out and pissing away, why not.
ECU
400 all-time wins, thanks Tulane
Wins over BCS programs,
Miami, WVU, VT, UNC, NCSU, Wake, Duke, Pitt, Cuse, UVa., TTU, Mizzu, Stanford, USC-e.
Bowl record:

1991 Peach Bowl win over NCSU, ECU finished 11-1 and 9th in nation
First final poll ranking 1983, 8-3 20th in the nation and No Bowl game, that's right a TOP 20 team didn't go to a bowl game. We lost to the National Champ Maimi 12-7 and no bowl game.
The past five years, let's see:
5 straight Bowls
2 C-USA titles
never finished worse than 2nd in the east div.
4 win over ranked teams, 1 over a top 10 WVU
lead C-USA in attendance for 4 straight years
44th nationaly in attendance
