Akron vs. Miami
........and we're complaining about poor turnouts in Waldo? The stands are fricking vacant in Oxford. ESPNU can't help but show this because there are very, very few fans anywhere to be seen. As well as OU turned out last night, the RedHawks quickly reversed that.

RE: Akron vs. Miami
Playing week night "made for TV" games gives MAC "exposure" alright = minor league.
I'm a former WMU player, long-time coach and CFB fan, and I'm not interested.
Who do "they" think is going to buy tickets or watch?

Not surprising, as it is raining and probably chilly.
Miami football has kind of bottomed out for now and their fans aren't stupid, they know what's up. That is to say, even though they are playing for a share of first in the east, they have yet to play Ohio or Temple.

So the "fans" shouldn't bother attending?
Why should we expect anybody to attend a WMU game then?

I'm not sure they've "bottomed out". They are contending for a MAC East title, and even though they lost to Minnesota, they could still make a bowl game due to the fact that the East is just that bad. Why wouldn't the fans go? They are the defending MAC champs and aren't as bad as they were in 2009

I don't look at the Minnesota loss as a factor, they're awful, but they're an awful BCS school. They should beat a MAC squad 9 out of 10 times all things considered.
RedskinsHawks looked pretty good last night.

According to the stats sheet, 12,000 were in attendance....Maybe thats the number of tickets they sold, because there shirley was not that many people in the stands, there had to have been less than 2,000 in the stands....I would have probably stayed at home too, weak opponent, cold and rainy....

^This is what I was meaning.
As for my comment on Miami bottoming out, I was talking about losing two coaches in one year, the recruiting falling off due to that, etc. They have a few good impact players - the All-MAC LB (can't remember name), Dysert and the young (Fr. or RS-Fr) wide receiver. Their defense is pretty decent and Treadwell has their offense starting to come around. The fact that they are still contending speaks to parity and the general weakness of the east.
