For the billionth time.

MJ has two sons. They both attend and play basketball for the University of Central Florida.

If that upsets people, they should go recruit their own son-of-an-NBA-legend.
We already have, his name is Sampson. He had a fun time at U of Disney-Orlando last year.

I know who his sons are and that they play for UCF. But thank you for explaining it, "for the billionth time". If you couldn't see the smack in my post, then you need to open your eyes or file paperwork to become legally blind.

Don't forget Blue Edwards' daughters are now on the women's team!04-rock

He does promote UNC, his son could only go to one school in NC and it was UNC, but UNC didn't want either of them. I mean could you see a Jordan in a Duke or State uni. Granted that would be funny as hell to see, that wasn't going to happen. UCF is the "back-up" school. After bith are done at UCF, MJ will be right back in Crapel Hell fast.

Nobody said they were upset that MJ has two sons that play basketball at Central Florida. That's not the point. The point is, was UCF using Michael Jordan in a "Meet and Greet" fashionable way in hopes of landing these recruits while they were on their official visit? If so, that's simply not right and possibly against NCAA rule.

Imagine if there was a big time QB recruit and it had came down to Southern Miss and UCF......If Southern Miss would had lined up Brett Farve to meet this kid on his official visit in a way to pursue him to come to Southern Miss, the UCF fans would be livid if he chose Southern Miss instead. Guaranteed.

Oh, okay. I didn't see it that way until you elaborated. Thank you for answering my question.

Basically the whole story raises a question since the University of Iowa recently reported a similar scenario as "violations" due to NCAA rules according to this article:

http://hawkcentral.com/2010/10/31/regist...emi-moore/

Notice this quote: NCAA rules prohibit potential high school recruits from having any contact with individuals considered to represent a university’s athletic interests because of the potential influence boosters can have on the recruiting process.

RE: UCF possible NCAA Recruiting Violations?
first: let me say i disagree with the mods for moving this... Until they get invited out and accept, UCF is still part of C-USA..

But to UCF fans, to me, you're in the clear on this as long as MJ isn't a UCF booster... if he is, that's a whole different story, and they'd have to be found guilty of it. I do think that's one reason a lot of former stars don't become boosters for their alma-maters.. to prevent any possible issues.

Like Herd said, you guys would go balistic if Favre started "pimping" out USM... or if Deangelo was doing the same for ECU.. or some other such, but as long as they're not boosters, there's no harm, no foul (IMO). {i dont think Iowa's guilty of anything there either... } but we shall see.

RE: UCF possible NCAA Recruiting Violations?
This isn't a violation because Jordan has two sons at UCF and was merely there visiting his sons. Nothing indicates UCF set up the meet. On an official visit to a a school you meet professors, administrators, other players, and, sometimes, players parents. In this case the parent just happened to be famous. It would be the same if a football recruit at Southern Miss ran into Favre. He's there for his own reasons and you run into him and say Hi. No violation.

Granted, this isn't smack either.
