if paybacks are hell....
There was some speculation after Black Friday that UAB folks were accumulating a list of NCAA violations by UAT to even the playing field a little bit. Over the years there has been lots of speculation here and elsewhere among our fan base about continuing violations, usually in the form of seemingly informed innuendo.

Question-if this stadium issue is not resolved in our favor, is it time to begin an intelligence gathering operation to see if there is fire to go with the smoke and if it is there to present it to the media and NCAA.

I think that we need to see how it goes with our current direction & see how that works out.

We should be pushing for a vote on this at the next BOT meeting which will be at UAB in February.

Don't we have more control over the meeting then?

You don't think there are Auburn, Florida, Tennessee, Mississippi State, et. al boosters/fans and sports writers that do that religiously?

No. The only difference is that Dr. Garrison will give an institutional presentation and the faculty and student representatives for UAB will get to speak.

I wonder how much a private investigator could dig up on PBJ and his backdoor dealings? Perhaps we do need a non-University shadow alumni fund for all sorts of pursuits. I'm not a rich man, but I'll chip in a few hundred, or the equivalent of what 3 season tix in the new stadium would have cost.

I think all the SEC schools have enough dirt on each other to warrant the death penalty but they fear using it due to certain retaliation. Of course, this is just my opinion.

We keep talking about this fund, we need to do. We need to have someone paid to be working on our behalf who is not scared or intimidated by the UA BOT, specifically Bryant.

RE: if paybacks are hell....
legalblazer they do, but they only drop it on another member of the cartel when the price of cheating goes up dramatically. going back to 1978, MSU went on probation when they doubled the price for Mardye McDole a WR from Mobile. UAT got turned in when they through Logan Young and some other bagmen raised the price to buy Albert Means, Travis Carroll etc. The same thing is true of every SEC team that gone on probation for the last 35 years.

I suspect folks outside the cartel play nice because if they drop a dime on UAT, et al, all of a sudden they can't get a buy game to bump the athletic budget.

As we are seeing this week, these folks don't play nice

I see - the fear of mutually assured destruction keeps them all quiet.
